Default Post-Subaru Challenge #1: Post your comments here!!

I dont have time to post much this morning, but I thought I would just post a quickie until lunch that the event was fun (even though I got soaked o the bone).

Thanks to the National level drivers for allowing us 'mortals' to run in the Super Star Challenge. It was a blast... once they sorta figured out who was supposed to run.. or did they?

The results are STILL a major jumble ( http://www.subaruchallenge.com/SE1/Results.htm )... let me know if anyone else can make heads or tails of it.

Still it was GREAT after the sun finally came out. I had a blast and I am hoping for drier conditions in Atlanta.

Thanks SOA, and more thoughts later! Post guys, they read this!!

- dow

Ps. Ack, I got beat by a girl... Good job Miranda!! Still fast in KC's car!!!

Let me know how Tom's Tranny is doing!!

Well, it looks as if the new tranny will be in by the Atlanta Subaru Challenge. Unfortunately, it won't be ready by the Florida Challenge.

It was tons of fun, though... I can't wait to see you guys in ATL for the Georgia Challenge!

Heh... I got beat by the Miranda... the Results are correct.. they just confused the hell outta me by NOT having the ACUTAL PAX times listed in that form.

I think that sums up the whole 'Subaru Challenge' experience for me on Saturday afternoon.

Great event. I am looking forward to Atlanta's event even more.. and drier weather. I hope they have something special planned for Halloween!!!

Oh, and I might have an STU car to play with by then.. maybe.. we will see.

I don't know yet if I'll make the FL Challenge, but I will make the ATL Challenge.

I want to see the full results posted. I was suprised by how fast that course was in the dry vs. the wet; I went 3 seconds faster and that was with a lot of mistakes and too busy going and giggling like a schoolgirl because it was so much fun to drive in the dry.

Looks like I'll be at the Atlanta challenge after all. It's so darn hard to get a day off here.

I would just like to note that my 3rd place in the SS challenge was with a cone! ARGH!!! (I just can't belive I ran back to back within less than 1/10 sec on each run. Did I mention: STUPID CONE!!!

I am just glad that the National Level drivers that were there decided to give as non-national people a chance by stepping down from the challenge.

If that had not happened, none of the STX drivers would have been there... that's for sure.

Thanks to at least KC and trhoppe for their kindness.

Fun times... fun times.

This I do know... it was my 1st and last Subaru Challenge in with me driving the Wagon. It's gettin' sold. Paperwork is being filed on the buyers end and it is pretty much a done deal. Dunno what's next.... I have a Jeep as a daily driver so that'll suffice until I figure out what I want to do next. (But 99.5% sure... it won't be in a Subaru)

Ack!!

*sigh*

Well, at least I got to see the last runs of the famous KC. It might be the last runs for Tom in his WRX as well (well, at leastthat transmission ).

Any reason for the change? Just getting stagnet? Just curious. It was good to see ya KC. I love the "To the moon!!" motion we all got when we started our 'All Star Challenge" runs when you were starter.

IT was great fun... once it quit raining!

Darn fast women on cheater tires ... wait, she was in KC's car

It was definitely an awesome time to say the least. I kinda wish that starters in ATL had that kinda head gear. I could really get used to looking all professional and stuff!

Oh, and Biggles.. I believe KC gave up his spot in line for teh Elise.. I think, instead, he will be buying a really big stickar machine so he can do my vinyl! :hint hint:

I had lots of fun - even changing wheels and adjusting rear toe in the wind and rain early morning. Fortunately didn't get to run until the afternoon when it began to dry out. Miranda coached me through the first two runs - many thanks and we had a blast inlcuding a beautiful controlled drift entering the wiggle before the final slalom. The race for D Stock 3rd position was very close with .267 seconds separating 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th (me). Field of 19 - not too shabby.

Looking forward to Atlanta.

I had a great and miserable time. The rain wouldnt have been soo bad if it wasnt for the wind. Racing thru the couple of puddles out there was fun. I cant wait for the Atl challenge hopefully it will be good weather.

and chris yes I think sm was run in the dry....but could be wrong.

She beat the majority of us in the Challenge too, but you have to take the 'wet' morning times and the 'dry' afternoon times to understand that the full field PAX... well, it doesnt mean anything in this case (STXL ran afternoon with SM, ESP, etc., STX, AS, DS, STS all ran morning).

So, unless they ran in the same conditions... hard to compare. This was another challenge with 8 from the morning, and 8 from the afternoon.

SM, ESP, DS, and STXL were all dry.
