The wood trim comes with the luxury package. Base models get the plain white plastic.
Yeah I saw that the other day. WTF Tesla it seems that the fix works and all but I would had waited at least to get a more industrial kind of molding, something from McMaster-Carr or something and cut it to length.

That looks like crap I would do. And people pay good money for this kind of build quality?

So those of you who find $8k too expensive for FSD, would you pay $4k for enhanced AP features that does everything FSD does except for stop sign & stop light recognition, and NO additional feature upgrades?

if someone doesn't have AP at all I think EAP for 4k is worth it, otherwise I think 2k for autolane change to add to the basic AP would be fair. I was able to get AP and FSD essentially for 4K because I got AP and FSD when they were on sale two years ago and I used two credit cards with 500 sign up bonuses lol.

Any credit cards out there do bonus points or multiplier miles on paying for electric charging stations (Tesla supercharger or 3rd party stations) much like how many cards will award bonus points on gas purchases at the pump?

I just moved over to my first MasterCard since I won’t be using miles anytime soon.

Citi bank rewards. 2% cash back on every purchase. No cap amount either and I think it has a $0 annual fee and maybe some introductory 0% APR.

1% for the purchase, 1% when you pay it off. I pay it off weekly so 2% end of every week.

I don’t think there is currently one for EV specific charging.

If you can charge at home you will almost never use L2 chargers (Tesla or otherwise). They are really just for looooong trips.

Why? Just why are these being done? The comparison is beyond stupid. While were at it, lets just throw it against the F350 diesel since it has so much power and tq. I guarantee the outcome will be the same. Tesla wins. Big shocker

maybe its because Carwow does so many drag race videos that get over a million views?

my previous comments on car journalists are confirmed here.

Additionally, businesses are finding out that an L2 station is super cheap marketing. Walgreens (CVS? I forget) has been installing free L2 chargers around us.

Around here is is shopping centers and restaurants. They know that this can capture 45 minutes to an hour of your time.

We have some. They are nice for hotels, restaurants, malls, movie theaters, etc. That being said, they are really only necessary if you are on a trip and then unless you are using one at a Hotel overnight, L3 makes more sense (Tesla, CCS, CHAdeMO) since L2 is mind-numbingly slow.

Red Robin semi-near me has several banks of chargers, gives people a reason to stop there for lunch.

We use public on occasion. Usually when we have a “oh ****, we need to swing by X” moment when out and about.

So the promise of full autonomous sure doesn't seem to be happening this year

Who would have thunk.

3 years to the $25k Tesla.

Today was about the massive improvements in manufacturing that are being implemented so that Tesla can build enough battery capacity to supply the growth in EVs. Someone should find a list because there was a lot.

To me, the most interesting car-specific advancement was the way they are building the 2 giant castings to hold the new batteries as a structural layer near the center of the floor. This will make the cars extremely rigid, protect the batteries from side impacts and create fantastic handling. having all your weight low and tight in the middle means you can turn quickly.

it seems the market didn't like the presentation. I thought it was amazing but people always want instant gratification. It seems that most of the cell advancements are a done deal but the dry electrode seems to need some refinement.

I'm counting on this to get more cheap shares.

The cost/kwh is being pushed lower at a faster rate than expected.

Also, skipping cell-to-pack and going directly to cell-to-structure is a leap frog move no one saw coming.
