Default 2020 Sti g35-900 .83ar 94(acn91) pump gas

I haven't seen a whole lot of information on here with the new G35 series turbos so I thought I'd post up my setup.

CJM sleeved block with o-ring hg
JE Ultra Pistons
Manley Turbo Tuff I-beam rods
1/2" arp head studs
GSC S2 cam
GSC stock size valves
GSC springs
KB pickup/baffle
Tomei UEL header
ETS rotated kit
COBB FMIC
ID1300 injector
Iag rails -6 lines (stock line from pump to firewall)
Aeromotive FPR
Aem 340 pump
Exedy twin disk clutch
Iag street motor mounts
Mocal 19 row oil cooler with thermostatic sandwich plate

We ran out of fuel as expected but before adding a surge tank and making things more complex I wanted to get the car running and any bugs worked out.

At 26psi it made 490whp at 7300rpm and 431ft/lbs at 4600rpm on a dynojet Dyno at 82°f. It's hard to read but legible. A stock sti makes 250-260whp on this Dyno

Sweet ride!

Any plans for ethanol?

Thanks! It's been a dream of mine for a lot of years to do a build like this and I finally could.

I think so. I need to buy it by the barrel up here and it's not cheap at almost double the price of premium. I might grab a couple 30gal barrels at $320ea and when it runs out it runs out.

You'll certainly need bigger injectors to use ethanol.

Where are you located?

The closest E85 station is 30 miles from my house and every so often I go up there with some VP cans and get ~56 gallons of fuel from the pump. Usually at or below the cost of premium.

E85 is the turbo corn juice of the gods - once you try it, you never go back.

100% on the bigger injectors! Over the winter I’ll be installing bigger injectors, surge tank, dual pumps, new lines, and I’m sure a few other things as well as trying to get my cooling setup sorted out better. I’d like to do a few track days next year and the car is currently running hotter than recommended.

There’s zero ethanol pumps here in Canada. Even finding a retailer that offers barrels for a reasonable price is tough.

We have our own made here locally, as they can blend in race gas when faster burn speeds are required etc... You'd only want to run in the e40-e60 range either way so its not incredibly expensive. Next year I'd recommend either getting a barrel or do a race gas blend tune for the track to take advantage of the bigger turbo.

btw, toronto is not part of "ACN91" status, the petro94 fuel here is great (that was for west coast 91 octane that had 0% ethanol and messed with the cobb staged tunes)

Well then, I was unaware that we had decent fuel! I was planning on getting a couple barrels of E85 but if there’s other options I’m all ears! Playing mad scientist in my garage is probably not a great idea though. I’m really interested to see what this turbo is actually capable of on more than pump gas.

Nice numbers for sure and I love the way that graph looks! Are the heads ported as well?

I have a similar build with a 6466 but I went standalone and I'm just waiting to get a map built to do the break in and I'll be heading to the dyno.

No porting on the heads just new components to allow a higher rpm.

We tuned using Cobb at first and then EcuTek. Stand-alone might be in the future but for now I’m working on getting the car sorted properly which probably won’t happen before they start salting and the car is put away. Everything was delayed by two months so my goal of doing a track day by the end of this year is done The car will never be finished, I might post up some of the build as I did it all in my garage myself minus tuning and the long block.

Thank you. I spent a lot of hours researching and spent a few of those in your build thread.

Other than the long block assembly and initial startup all the work was done by me in my garage. It’s my first time doing most of this so it’s been a learning experience. Thankfully almost every question has been answered here as I haven’t had much support locally.

You might have more luck looking at suppliers/manufacturers for other industries than automotive. You would have to then mix it with gasoline to get whatever ratio you wanted. I didn't search for Canada specifically, but there are suppliers that sell from 1 KG up to 10 metric tons. And no, I don't know where you would store 10 tons of ethanol.

This thing is super clean. I made 473whp on my Garrett GTX3584RS on 24psi. I am currently changing up the setup. I am trying to see what a G35-1050 does for me next!

Thank you! The motor was pulled at ~6500km and I’ll hit just over 10k km before the season ends.

I’d like to see how the 1050 does! Make sure to post up when you get some results.

Why are you upgrading when you haven't even touched the potential of that turbo?

The G series will outperform that turbo by far, hopefully he does a back-to-back comparison on the same psi.

That's a 700 whp turbo he's getting rid of. He hasn't even come close to getting it into it's efficiency range. It just sounds like a waste too me.

I don't unfortunately and now that the weather has changed the tune is off so seeing how the car performs at 11psi won't do it much justice lol.

awesome chart, I just got my latest build tuned. made 460hp/430tq on a hub dyno @ 24psi using a VSR 5855.

that g35 -900 chart looks very similar to what I did, but I am on oem cams and a super basic piston/rod/stud motor.
your setp is spooling 300 rpm sooner at least based on peak tq, which I think is the main thing I was wondering since I went with a more "budget" turbo.

I don’t have one handay no. I’ve been chasing issues for the last month but if I get the car sorted this weekend I’ll take a log and post it up. Maybe lack of fueling?
