Ya I have to agree up in the Ventura county area most all the 02 to 14 guys wave but the 15+ drivers still look confused or more often than not wont even notice their fellow brethren... No matter how loud :P

I got a wave and waved back to a guy on the road to Loma Linda. He was in a newer ish Impreza and I was in my bugeye. I got excited, it was the first subie brethren wave I had gotten

I rarely get waves back in the '16. The other night I got flipped off by someone in the Silver version of my car whom I think is actually a classmate of mine in a lecture hall. I get more waves in the bugeye, but even then, it's rare.

Sometimes I forget i'm driving my fiance's car and I wave. They probably wonder why a dude in a BMW is waving at them.

I've totally done this while on foot. Then I realize... how the F would that guy know I have a WRX? I must look like a crazy person on the street.

I'm going to put a nasioc sticker on my new truck for just those times. Current ugly beater truck doesn't deserve such a sticker.

Hi guys. I'm just checking in here. Former 02 wrx sedan owner; and thanks to mattjk and his brother, a current 02 wrx wagon owner! yay! (i also have a sweet 99 forester but who cares).

Unfortunately, I don't live in SCIC region anymore but I'm still team Rife Plaza for life. Thanks to all the original 02 wrx owners keeping the dream alive.

A lot of us have grown up, gotten married, had kids etc... but the memories from back in those formative years will always be with us.

I still make an effort to wave every time I see a WRX - no matter what the year. Sometimes I get a wave back, sometimes not.

I'll never forget my first Subaru community experience. I was driving my new 06 WRX home from the dealership (on the freeway) when a heavily modded WRB bugeye came flying up next to me. He flew past, hit the brakes, came back to be next to me, threw out the peace sign and then hit the gas again. From that point on, I felt like a part of something. I was hooked. Even my girlfriend at the time was like "that was awesome."

Well said.

And like I said above, it is really rare and remarkable that WRX owners of all model years will wave to one another. It just doesn't happen in other car communities.

This used to happen in the Nissan 240sx community (10 years ago).. Then once Tokyo Drift came out all Hell broke loose.

Im currently in a 16 and try to make it a point to wave at any WRX I see.. its a nice feeling to have a that mutual respect. However I did run into a white bugeye (Santa Ana area) that didn't want to acknowledge me. Made me feel like a creeper, lol... so I just casually passed him up...

I'm in Ventura County and on my daily drive to work, I usually see at least one WRX or STI. Even seen a nicely done Fozzie last weekend. I almost always get a peace sign or wave back.

The exception would be if I spot rice at a distance, then a wave is not delivered, but will be returned if offered. Yep sorry I'm a snob. I don't want to seen directly associating with the kiddies living that Fast and Furious dream...

Here in the beach cities almost all the subies some kind of wave. I have found a good amount of times of various subie drivers not doing the wave back. Not jus the 15+ boys also all the other gens. I summed it up to be just the person who's driving and try to wave at all of them. Sometimes I understand if the sun hits in a certain way and they dont see me. For the record also, I am new to subies in general and I am apart of the 15+ gang so I guess I am an exception to the thought that 15+ drivers are not real subie enthusiasts. Also if I see a well done fozzy I will give them a wave. There's are two really well done ones that live in the area and they get the wave.

Still get the occasional wave
Definitely feel like younger kids are buying wrx and sti and sometimes they can give a bad rep.
