which cold air intake is the best?

currently my 05 wrx is stock and i dont know which CAI i should use? I was reading about the perrin CAI it looks like a good intake. Any suggestions.

ram air? the wrx is forced induction.

CAI's can be detrimental to your turbo car.

nothing has been proven to work well on a wrx (not the sti) without engine management.

CAI has issues. it can get splashed from a puddle, sending your car into limp mode.

short ram does take in more hot engine bay air.

I can tell you that no good will come of putting a C.A.I. on your car unless you have EM. There are about 15 threads a day about this, and everyone gets the same answer: the factory intake is perfectly fine at modest power levels, so save your money and get something that will actually have a positive effect on your car's performance (exhaust, EM). This is coming from people who have lots of experience with these cars, so take the advice seriously.

Remember that you're dealing with a turbo charged car, so most of your performance gains will come from opening up the flow of your exhaust (which currently has 3 cats in it). The intake doesn't come into play until you're pushing much higher HP. It would be a good idea to read the FAQ's at the top of the newb section. Lot's of great info in there; I know I benefited from it. Most notably Unabomber's Manifesto

For EJ25 engines, the best intake is Cobb CAI
But for the EJ20T or EJ25T, none is the best. Since the stock intake is good enough for the job. Some say they got decrease in power for aftermarket intakes... but i cant confirm that part.

For the STi engine, the K&N Typhoon would be my choice.

For your WRX, stick with stock. If you want to have fun with your intake system, then do a snorklectomy.
