Default 2007 Spec B Legacy & 2007 STi limited

Just a quick heads-up for those waiting or wondering, the SOA VIP program will not cover the 2007 STi limited but will cover the 2007 Legacy Spec B

VIP doesn't normally cover limited-run vehicles. The 2007 Spec B is now a bonafide model.

True, but the 2006 Spec B ended up being covered by the VIP program a few months after release, it all depends on what the sales dept thinks will happen.

It was heavily debated to add the Sti limited or not.

Another reason the Sti Limited shouldn't be priced at too much of a premium. The lack of VIP coverage is a several thousand dollars. I'd like the limited, but if it's priced too high, I'll buy the STI or wait until 2008 and hope the limited becomes a standard model.

I bought my spec.B when it first arrived at dealerships, in October, under the VIP Partners program. There was no delay.

I wonder whether anyone in Alaska is involved in any way with these decisions.

There are different levels of VIP I think as well, only one I am familar with is dealer invoice minus 2%.

I still have a VIP letter somewhere from last year that had the Legacy Spec b as a non-covered under the program...

Few months later it was not listed on the letter....

I have no clue what the sales where like on the Spec B.

Should know MSRP on the 2007 models pretty soon though, dealer meetings are next week, they usually announce them shortly after.

Even though I fully expected that answer, it is still not good news. It is very frustrating as a consumer that not only do we potentially (likely) face a higher MSRP on the Limited over the "standard" STI, we also have to deal with possible dealer mark up because of the limited number (800) available. Ya, I could wait until next year when the limited may be a regular model or the 08s are out but I am in the market now.

People didn't have to deal with inflated prices on the 2006 Spec.Bs for long, as some of these "limited" models are still on dealer lots, now with deflated prices.

The same will probably be true for the 2007 STI Ltd., especially if SOA puts MSRP at or over $35K. Wait a month or two and markdowns should be easy to find.

Exactly, 2006 Spec B's are availble for the picking now. A MY07 Spec B was at WBM last month, much more to my liking than the MY06. Looked really sharp but I fear the price is getting out of control.
