Default 1997 legacy OB EJ20T swap

ive had my wagon for a couple of years and put ~15-20k miles on it, drove it from florida to california because that's where im stationed and i needed my car. anywho, i have another misfire in cylinder 1 and i replaced the spark plugs about 2-3 months ago and the valve cover gaskets at the same time. i have the repair and maintenance manual and it has a spark plug chart and i pulled the 1st spark plug and from what it says the engine is running hot. im good on coolant and it has a brand new radiator and hoses not even a year old. it's the EJ25 n/a and im not sure what i should do. ive been looking at cutting my losses, maybe just getting the 25 cleared and repaired to keep using it until i get enough saved for a EJ20T swap. just looking for thoughts or experiences, ive read into Sam's build with his impreza.

What plugs did you use?
Is the "hot plug" based on the old plug or the new plug?
Did you check all the plugs or just one? If all of them, do they all look the same?
Any CEL's? If so, what are they?
How many miles on the car?
Where does the coolant temp gage sit, low, mid way, high?

-NGK iridium
-new plug
-just where the missfire was coming from (cylinder 1)
-CEL for cylinder 1 missfire, and 02 issue but that's due to the exhaust leak coming out of the headers i just installed and i didn't even have all the hardwear to properly seal the gaskets
-196K
-coolant gauge sits mid way no movement

Can you post a picture of what the repair and maintenance manual says about the spark plug and the engine running hot?

Can you find a more random thread to ask your question in?

I will guess "glazed with little nodules on the center porcelain".

OK, could be the spark plug wire. Would be good to pull all 4 plugs and compare them, should all look the same.
Ideal is tan on the center electrode porcelain, if you're burning oil it may be darker. You don't want it wet or "gunked up" although they're new plugs so should look OK.
Let us know what they look like, or show us a picture.

When were the spark plug wires last changed? Is the misfire issue worse when it's damp/wet out? If so, that points to wires as well.
