Question Nology PDA Dyno

I was looking at buying the Nology PDA Dyno and was curious if anyone has one or has any input.

I have the Auterra software and love it.

I want something to give me pre and post mod horsepower rating so I have an idea what kind of improvement it made, would this be the tool for me or should I just take it to a dyno each time?

Those dyno loggers can be very, very, optimistic. I'd trust a GTECH over them any day. The money is better spent $12 for the day at the strip or however much the nearest dyno charges.

My logger gave me 100hp at the wheels with my 140hp EJ22. I think it did pretty well. Regardless of optimism, though, I think as long as you are consistant it will work. Of course, you could always just count how long it takes to accelerate from two speeds or something and that is free.

good loggers like the Nology can be much more accurate than the G-tech. They include tons of factors in their equation such as temperature, elevation, exact weight, frontal area, gear ratios/tire size, and the list goes on.

Yeah I have to agree.. the G-Tech still relies heavily on an accelerometer which means the numbers are far from repeatable. Using OBD2 numbers to measure power, while still nothing more than a giant math equation to figure out horsepower will probbly be closer. It can also give you before and after gas mileage numbers too!

Nothing beats an actual dyno however...

Dynos are just big math equations also. They just use the rollers and their weight/load in the equations instead of your cars weight and drag.
