Default Does anyone have a set of snow tires I can borrow for a weekend?

I'm trying to find a set of snow tires I can borrow for a weekend in December (just one weekend) because I've been invited up to Whistler to go skiing. I can give you my 17" oem wheels/tires to use if you need them, it's just that S-02's don't do well in the white stuff. I can also compensate you some other way for letting me use them. Email me privately and we can work out those details. It will most likely be the 15th and 16th of December.

I hate to get picky, but I've already had 2 offers for 15" tires and while I really appreciate the help, unfortunately 15" wheels won't fit over stock WRX brakes. At least that's what Glenn Wallace said in an old post. So unless somebody knows differently (which would be great if they did) then I'll need 16" wheels.

Well if you want to drop by and test-fit one that'd be fine with me. Otherwise,
Screw you guys, I'm going home.

Too bad you live soo far north, otherwise I'd offer up my Legacy GT wheels mounted with Hakkas. They should get to see their first snow next week!!!

15" steelies and 15" Legacy wheels don't fit the WRX.
15" Racelines do.

The Legacy GT 16" x 6.5" *may* fit.

I'd lend you my Hakkas but I may be using them this weekend too!

Well, if you don't get any better offers, I have a set of RE 92's on stock WRX wheels on my Legacy wagon. They only have about 4K miles on them. Would be happy to switch for a weekend. They aren't too bad in the snow.

Glenn, it's actually not for this weekend but for the weekend of the 16-17. Do you think you'll be using them then?

Sube-j, thanks for the offer, I may have to take you up on that if I don't find anything else. RE92's may not be the greatest tires but for snow they will be worlds better than S-02's.

Tirerack's package deal comes with tires AND OE 16" WRX wheels (only $95 each for the wheel???) for $788. That's dang cheap. Usually OE wheels run about $350 from the dealership. That's less than $200 more than buying the steelies in a package. Shoot.

Ya, but if I do that I won't have any money to go skiing when I get there.

Hmm. If you wait until noon to start your skiing the ticket price drops a lot. I think the afternoon pass was like $15 when I was there a couple of years ago.
