This CAR IS AMAZING.... My plan: leaving it stock.. save forged wheels at 18" and 265 all season rubber....it is nice to have traction at 43 degrees..... She's a keeper (like forever). The car drives and handles like a dream - holds 4+ and has a real trunk. If you are super happy with your car please add to this thread: car model, year, and plans to keep it or not - Happy holidays to all. jeff

![]() I love driving my 2019 every day even in winter here in MI. Basic stage 2 setup for now and I’d like to keep it for as long as I still look back when I get out of the car.
I will be looking at a flex setup for its numerous benefits as well as supporting mods in the spring. I am prepared and able to support a short block replacement in the future if it happens, but the hope is that a good setup and safe tune and good driving habits keep it safe. If not, I then I’ll deal with it. Glad you’re enjoying yours. |

![]() your not going to "blow" a ringland, don't listen to the internet /noob wives tales. Drive that car and enjoy it to the fullest. These cars are a BLAST in the winter. Make more power in the cold air and everything just feels more responsive LOL. Just put good gas in it do the scheduled oil changes and drive it often and it will last and last and last...these cars are the energizer bunnies of performance cars LOL!!

![]() Even though OP's post is hard to read I understand the meaning. I love my 19, just completed a trunk swap today for wingless and makes me love it even more. Would love FF with all bolt ons but with all other toys I have it's hard to pick which one I want to buy stuff for.
Definitely keeping this car for a long time. Unless 2021 is just to good to pass up. |

According to the noob wives tales my engine needed replacing 3 years ago because I 'lug' the engine going full throttle in 6th. Fast forward 97,000 miles and 6th gear WOT pulls daily the engine runs perfectly and consumes about a half quart per 5000 miles now. Consumed nothing until about 85k. |

![]() I currently own a 19' Premium WRX, this is my 3rd WRX ( 15' traded in , 18' RIP ). I plan to keep this car for a long time, as long as the dealer continues to honor " their lifetime warranty " , if I do my own scheduled maintenance.

![]() I've noticed a definite uptick in the amount of WRX/STIs I see on the road now in winter.
In any case, great car; but the one thing that will make me change it before 10 yrs is the fuel consumption. It is terrible. So I'm keeping mine at least 5yrs and then decide on the next gen if it's cool... |

![]() 2004 Subaru WRX STi.
Have had it since 2009. Love it. Tomei 7690 with supporting mods. Threw the Whiteline catalogue at it along with a set of KW Variant 3s. A pleasure to drive year round, but it does duty as the 'winter beater' now, and has started to get some surface rust. Debating addressing it or letting it go. Likely replace it in a year or 2 with another AWD hot hatch / sedan, unfortunately most (not all) of the vehicles I am looking at have an automatic transmission. Considering S3/RS3/Golf R (manual ![]() Problem is what to do when I replace the STi, to strip it down and part it out, or to sell it whole to hopefully somebody who can turn it into a track car. |

![]() I have a 2015 WRX that I bought new. I could not be happier. Great car all around, specially with a custom tune and few shifter mods. It pulls like a freight train with just a few gallons of E85 and handles like a rabbit on cleats. I plan on keeping it until the wheels fall off.

![]() I have a 2018 WRX that I bought new. It's my 3rd WRX. The only mods I have on it currently are winter wheels and tires, a JDM armrest extension, the JDM red stitched leather shifter trim panel, and two kid's seats. I love the car, and feel like it is an evolution of the 2002's that I owned previously. I'll definitely keep it for the long haul as it's my daily driver. It will also likely remain stock because with two kids 5 and younger, my income has been reallocated and reprioritized to other areas.
My long story/justification: I guess at heart, I'm a Subaru person (I've had 5). After I replaced my first WRX with a 370Z, I ended up missing my WRX so much that I bought a 2002 wagon as a beater. Unfortunately, that was a Massachusetts and Western PA car, so it had ungodly amounts of rust and I ended up making one of the poorest automotive decisions of my life and traded it in on a 2013 Focus Titanium for my daily drive/long commute. After transmission issues, I ended up dumping the Focus and getting my wife a 2015 Forester XT shortly before my son was born. I daily drove her Corolla and sometimes drove the 370Z. Just before my daughter's (2nd kid) first birthday, I surprised my wife and for Christmas traded in the 370Z on a Sienna minivan. I took over driving the Forester XT, and found that I really missed having a car, so that brought me to getting back into a WRX in July 2018. Having driven and owned a lot of cars, Subaru seems to provide the most balance as far as meeting my fun to drive requirements, being fairly reliable, and mostly nuisance problem free. Reliability-wise, Toyota's been the best (but by far the most boring), and Ford has been the absolute worst. |

![]() Just had a drive in the cold, on wet roads, on Michelin 265 pilot sport 3plus tires...on 18" forged rims - my only real "mod" as summer tires in the midatlantic are not so great in December.
One word: wow. When around a 911 driven by a guy probably too scared to drive it in the wet, cold weather. I have had a 911 and understand that a little...sadly. This car let's you live more. Happy holidays. |
