Default Boxer Takeover 2020 on the tail of the dragon NC/TN

Heard about this thru reddit and saw there was this event on FB. I'm not on FB so I can't join the group but wanted to get a feel for how big it is.

I've been wanting to drive the tail of the dragon for years now and I'd be road tripping down from NYC. It looks like it's April 2020 Anyone going?

I went a few years back. It's a lot of fun. But the drive down there is tough if you're on your own. At least it was for me. It's too bad it's so far otherwise I'd be going all the time. I've got some pics on my profile.

Awesome pics, definitely looks like a good time. I'm familiar with long drives alone so this won't be a problem. Although 12hrs will be my longest solo trip, I've previously done 9hrs with no issues, just me and the STi ...(and a trunk full of tools lol).

I just joined your reddit group, will def be keeping up with the event. Let me know if you plan on making the 2020 event. I'm up for the drive, coming from NYC. Tougefest also looks like another prospectively good event, I should be down for.

One thing I would recommend if you're gonna go is to change out your brake pads for something that can handle higher temperatures. I melted my stock pads on the dragon.

I used to go back in the day and it was always a blast. We all got rooms where ever, Swede would cook a whole hog. Lots of fun cars, lots of miles driven on the dragon and on other local roads, and lots of memories. Maybe I'll run down to this one as well!
