Default Which tire size on '18 STI with 18x9.5 wheel?

I've searched. Not really found the answers I'm looking for. Stock tire/wheel size is 19x8.5 with 245/35/r19 on my 2018 STI

Wanting to get Titan 7 T-S5's which are 18x9.5 +40

What would be a better tire? 255/40/18 or a 255/35/18? Does anyone have experience running this on a 2015+ STI with stock suspension?

I like this guy's setup below he's running a 255/40/18 on the wheel I want but I'm not sure if he's rubbing anywhere at all.

Might be easier to read through his thread or ask him since he is running the exact setup you want and is lowered.... just a through...

255/35R18 is 3.1% shorter than stock. A 265/35R18 is a better choice, and fits. It's a very popular size. A 275/35R18 is the closest to the stock diameter, but that's fairly wide and not many people run that size.

I run a 255/35 on 18x9.5 TS10ís and wish I had done the 265 or bigger. Chipped the lips up quick

Dan,

Is running a 275/35r18 too wide? What rim width and offset have you seen work with this tire size? I'm trying to research optimal wheel width, offset and tire sizes that will not disrupt handling with OEM shocks and lowering springs.

I have run 275/35 re71’s on 18x10 +38 rpf1 with oem suspension, no rubbing. And also on coil overs, pretty low with -2.5 camber up front and -2 in the rear, slight rubbing on rear before fender rolling. It is a pretty aggressive tire size but it matches the oe diameter
