Hey everyone,
Been trying to be more active on my youtube chanel as it's a great way to talk through my thoughts and review on everything I am doing to this car. There doesn't seem to be as much communication on the forums anymore, so trying to keep it alive! Check out my latest videos below if you are interested! More to come! I've been next to a STi when he was doing the burble noises...
I know it can be turned on/off just wish it was never created. |

Admittedly I like the sound of the STI with the burble a helluva lot more than the FA20 with a burble tune...was next to one on I-84 coming back home a couple days ago and it's just...bleh lol. But props to you doing what you love with the car while you can |

Truth be told I'm debating Bren now; I've been riding around on Cobb Stage 1 for like eight months and I'm tired of it and want to secure my engine's longevity a little longer until I eventually do what you're doing and sell it. Either way, think I wanna do my spark plugs first. |

Cobb stage 1 is ok. It definitely smoothed things out, but it was still really choppy for me. I was getting data all over the place with that map. I'm really happy with my decision to go with Bren. The response time was insane and they were great through the entire process. Couldn't be happier with my experience and overall feel of the car. |

Full step by step car wash video I did this past weekend. I get a lot of questions on my process and products, so I figured I would make a video.

The canards look great, not a fan of the fin on the lip though, looks too Autozone
The wash/detail video was solid and very detailed, but you might want to think about cutting the length of it down to something around 10-15 minutes since most people won't watch much more than that. You could do things like hyperlapse the wheels and wash mitt sections, time when you're off camera, when the pressure washer is running, etc. You can also keep your audio over any hyperlapse portions so you're not skipping details or things you want to be sure to mention! That said, I do understand wanting to fully document the full process without skipping much, and it's a solid video either way! |

My goal isn't to make short quick, mind numbing videos. I just want to inform people with information. I am not in it for the money (obviously) or to gain subscribers or become a youtuber. I set up my camera and washed my car. I want people to see that and have explanation as to what I am using and why I am using it. In the beginning of the video, I even explained it's going to be long and not for everyone. But there are people out there that do enjoy the detailed, longer format videos. I know I do (IE: Matt from Obsessed garage). I am just a normal dude in the garage who likes cars. Not trying to hide that and I am sure many people can relate to it. Social media these days are filled with 20 something year olds buying $100k+ worth of cars and car parts in a day and making a video on modifying their cars. When in reality a normal average joe, it would take months, even years to accomplish this. Yes, it is entertaining, but it's filling the minds of younger people with hopeless dreams that this is the "norm" and if it doesn't get accomplished, they have failed. My only hope is to be a representation of what "norm" is and having just one car to play with and what can be done. If my videos end up being 2 hours long, then so be it. The information is out there for people to use if they want. Otherwise, it's easy to move along onto a 10 minute video with filler drone shots and b roll. |

I do appreciate the time and level of detail (hah) you put into your videos, I hope I didn't come off as rude. I did watch the full thing because I too can appreciate it as just a normal dude who enjoys cars. I left a comment on a previous video saying you should do a wash/detailing one when you discussed what should be next, so it was pretty cool to see. It's a shame that these forums are so quiet these days, so keep the videos coming! |

I appreciate you taking the time to watch! It's fun to keep the conversation going on another platform, because you are right. The forums are absolutely dead. I miss this aspect of the car culture. With my wrx, I would post up a review and it would be a frenzy with everyone jumping in on the conversation. Now, it's sad to see the limited traffic and people just moving away from forums in general. Now people move to social media to watch an entire car be built in 1 video. Damn millennials (lol... I'm one of them though). I intend to keep putting out videos when I have something interesting to show or talk about. At least that I feel is interesting. I am not holding myself to a schedule or going to start vlogging my day because lets be honest, my life isn't that interesting haha. But I'll try to keep the channel going and hopefully the conversations can continue over there. And no hard feelings felt. I didn't find you coming off as rude at all. I felt the need to explain my viewpoint as I knew an hour long sub-par edited/looking video of some balding dad in their garage washing their STI wasn't going to go viral. I just want others to understand my intentions for the videos and future plans of what kind of videos one can expect from me. |

Yeah it's ridiculous. Granted I do a lot of work for Streetspeed717/Inshanedesigns, but their builds are pretty damn nice in my opinion. The builds I can't stand are "I put 100 ****ty ass parts from Wish.com on my BRZ" type ****.
I remember back when these clean, well thought out, build threads were really popular. |

Absolutely man. Mike and Shane are up there with the quality builds. It just gets comical when I see these channels taking on 15 projects at once without finishing one. It would drive me BONKERS having all these unfinished projects collecting dust. I understand the need for content, but to me, it lessens the integrity of the personality behind the camera. It shows me that all they care about are the views instead of the passion that they started their channels on. Like I said, I never intend to become a YouTuber by any means. But if whatever reason my channel catches on and start to gain some traction, you best believe I will stick to these words and continue to have the same mindset as I do now. |
