Agreed ^^

Thats like Mrs. Janq getting wet over the latest Harry Winston setting with rubies the size of cat eyes
Whats the point as the closest one will ever get to ownership is spending $5 on the magazine & pics.

I'm excited about the upcoming Lexus lineup.
In 2005 there will be a new GS with AWD (!) and a 6 speed that as according to the salesman and brochure will have a hybrid drive making 400HP.
My frickin father in law took off with my brochure though.
Also there is the new RX with hybrid drive.

Not to mention the much rumored Subaru people mover.

WRX300, Yes there was an LM002 in the nineties and it WAS badass. They're making a new version of it coming soon enough, the concepts you'll see are the VERY early models which i'm sure will change much before it comes out.

The picture they show in the mag, isn't the best one. I've seen it in a previous issue and it is VERY odd, but I think it's cool in it's own way.

This is the first I've heard of a new LM, period. I'll still bet even money it will be based on the Touraeg/Cayenne platform. If so, then no thanks.

Lexus SUV. Makes sense as I believe that it is based off the Highlander platform which is also coming out in a hybrid model soon.

Yeah the brochure dude gave me was killer and the thing looks like hells own chariot.
My father in law was visibly drooling and he took off with my brochure.

BTW we test drove last Saturday the BMW 545i Sport and the new Acura RL-SH (Super Handling).
Noice!

I didn't drive as he's the one looking for a new ride but from the passengers seat the BMW is primo, as expected.
I hated the i-Drive though and the salesman stated that even as they dumbed it down alot from the 7 Series people still don't like it and find the thing difficult to use at first, which was the case with both of us.
With some training time though it's supposed to be relatively simple...
The car on the outside I'm still not a fan of but I could live with it. My father in law loved everythign about it and wouldn't shut up about it the rest of the day into Sunday when he left.

As for the Acura neither of us liked it though for different reasons.
For me I thought the drivers expereience was way too gadgety with about 900 buttons. Nearly as many buttons as a Touareg, and trust me the Touareg has a frickin lot of buttons & dials.
We drove a full boat unit marked at $52K with options and DIO's including 18" chrome bling rims. My 65 yr. old father in law who looks just like Rutger Hauer asked the sales manager helping us with a deadpan face why the rims didn't have "spinners". Dude took him serious and started stammering, then he and I both burst out in dudes face laughing our asses off.
You had to be there.
Anyway so they sent us out with the thing and my father in law laid into it hard. It's a cool lux cruiser for someone who doesn't want to be seen in a Lexus but wants LS400 comfort. It moves out with some authority (300HP!) but overall its not a drivers car which is to be expected.
The SH is cool though and fun as you can actually feel it working for you as we made up an impromptu slalom course in the side parking lot of a then closed office complex.

In the end 545 is the winnar by a nose even though it had technically less features than the Acura for roughly the same price and is only RWD, which neither of us mind and prefer to FWD including even in his Western MA winters.
Oh and the BMW is only available in auto now with a stick being a special/custom order as per the salesman. He said BMW ships less than 2% of its 5 series in stick so they no longer do stick allocations and are now all special orders. A shame but not surprising.
My father in law has never owned an auto tranny in his life.
