Btw, you will find your answer in the tire and wheel section. Every question already has been asked on this subject. And you will learn lots more, trust me.

Im not sure myself (about the question or answer actually lol) but i would assume you cannot stretch a 205/60/16 tire for a 17" wheel.
Sorry, I know I'm probably just making it sound more complicated than it needs to be. Your right, wrong forum, sorry. No to your first two questions and I agree with you on the rest. I was trying to justify using the tires I happen to have. I'll just buy new snow tires/wheels.

I wish I kept my 07. Sure mileage is great, but this thing is junk. Been to dealer so many times for rattles and squeaky seat. My dash rattles even when I don't hit bumps, and slight undulation will cause it to rattle. Seat squeaks like crazy. Dealer can never replicate the squeak as it always goes away (seriously) when I take it in. As for the dash rattles, they add insulation but it always comes back. It wouldn't be a concern except that I have long commutes and hearing it the entire way everyday is like nails on a chalkboard.

Ill be heading to the car show to see what's Around.

I hear ya about the squeaky seat and dash rattles. God knows I have my share. Besides my oil drinking engine, these are my biggest gripes about the car. It makes the car sound and feel so cheap... like an early, mid 90's American econo-box. I should know, I've owned 3 of 'em until I smartened up.

Btw, I've had broken spring clips replaced in my seatback twice already in 9 months... if that's not cheap, I don't know what is.

Has anyone invested in a side mounted license plate frame for their 12 impreza?

If so, what did you get and do you have any pictures?

I am debating on getting one but I just want to see how it looks first on the impreza.

My buddy has a 2011 Honda Civic hybrid and I have ridden in it and driven it several times. Not once have I heard a squeak, creak, rattle or buzz and I purposely listen for them. That car is exceptionally solid and well built IMHO.

I have also owend a 2007 MazdaSpeed 6 for a couple years and I don't recall any annoying dash rattles or squeaky seats in that car either.

I can hear it over the radio. Also, if it rattled when hitting a bump that's one thing. Hearing them on a smooth highway is another. Compounded with my seat squeaking loud as hell, I feel like I'm in a 100k+ car after one year of ownership

Made my own stubby antenna last night. Well not really an antenna, it just plugs the hole. I don't ever use the fm/am so I don't really care about reception and I didn't like how the antenna looks. I will paint this this summer when it is warm out

Not a bad idea if you never use am/FM radio. Beats paying for the shark fin antenna. Definitely need to paint it black tho.

yup, but i'm going to wait until spring at the earliest, it is just too cold to be painting now and my wife will be upset if i paint in the house.

i have the factory sirius tuner installed with a radio from a '12 forester so AM/FM is never used. i tried it last night, sounds like crap, but it did with the factory antenna too.

I will keep the antenna in the glove box just in case i would ever need it (emergency), but if there is nothing on satellite, i have music on my phone in a non emergency situation

Removing the antenna is probably good for a 5 MPG increase.

Question: is it possible to have the rear defrost come on with the remote starter?

This would be really helpful on frosty mornings when the windows and mirrors are covered. As far as I can tell it's not possible because you have to press the button "in" once the car is on.

Didn't you know there is a large magnetic field around car dealers? Small pieces of metal in the dash, and seat parts begin to stick together and that is why it never squeaks when you take it to the dealer.

Anyone what notice when it gets below zero that the temperature is off? Mine is reading about 6f warmer than the real temperature. Above 0f I haven't noticed it being further than 1f off

No issues here. Just remember that when you start the car the temperature is not always accurate. Got to drive a bit for it to register. Eg I got in the car today and it said it was -1c but drove a block and it showed -7c which is the correct temp.
Last night after starting the outside temp was -11c and display shows -6. Short hop and that baby dropped quick to correct. Hearing the reports from the radio shows temp is spot on.

So I was coming home from the store today and when I turned the car on, the check engine light came on, along with the traction control light, and the cruise and AT temp light flashing. Car drove normal, I turned it off when at a light but everything came back on (except for the AT light).

Anyone have this happen to then before? I don't have a scanner so I can't check what code was thrown. Gonna have to take it to the dealership I guess :/

I have driven 60 miles today on the highway, still wrong

-11c is still above 0f. My problem is below 0f, so colder than -17c

A911:

Make sure you check all the obvious stuff, engine oil, coolant level and such. Anything you can check. (Not that those things necessairly have to do with some of the indications on your dash but..) Also, check your fuses to see if one or more have blown controlling those systems. If you discover a fuse(s) blown get a couple of extras. If you replace one and all is well, then good. If a fuse goes a second time, get to the dealer to find the source of the trouble. Do not just put a bigger fuse in. A fuse is kind of a relief valve. You WANT it to blow before wires melt or something burns up.

After that, yes, you will probably need to visit a dealer.

I've had temperatures below -25C and it's always within one or two degrees of what Environment Canada is posting on their website. So, mines accurate.

It's accurate now after my car wash. I think it might have been covered with salt.

Currently showing -9f, actual outside temp is -8f

i owe $14,500 on this car right now. Am I going to be losing a lot of money if I trade it in? I am very unhappy driving this thing everyday. I regret not keeping my 06.

1. The quality of the interior is cheap. Everything is starting to rattle more and more every day. I have had numerous dash board rattles addressed by the dealer and had everything taped with foam and it still rattles. The area by the heater controls rattles like a bunch of loose change anytime the engine is running. I would turn the radio up but when I do the doors buzz and rattle also.

2. Gas mileage is not really any better than my 06 Impreza.

3. The throws for the gears are too long...making driving the MT a not so enjoyable experience. The hill holder clutch is annoying....I turned it off but then there is a horrible yellow light in the dashboard ruining a rather nice red display.

4. The seat squeak is getting worse and worse. Brought into the dealer to have them check and of course the noise couldn't be replicated.

5. The engine is just too underpowered. Unfortunately I wasn't able to test drive the car before I bought it. I was one of the many who had to wait 8 weeks before I got my car. I live in a really hilly area and this car just doesn't have enough power. My 06 impreza had a little more power and torque and didn't seem to have as many issues.

These are just a few of the issues I have with this car. It has 10k miles on it and I've only had it for about 8 months now. Just very dissapointed overall.
