Mine being an RS to start with is at 2900 with the 6-speed, brembos, and sunroof. I was tempted for a while to loose the heavy stuff, but I'm in using 285's so no real reason
Yeah, for a 2.5 turbo (which is where I'm headed at the moment, or plan to):

285mm= 2850lbs
275mm= 2650lbs

The kit is definitely not SP legal, but the way I read the rules they are allowed in SM and lots of other SM competitors are using them that I know of.
That's good to know. I changed my ball joints out about 60k ago, and would like to use the RCCK. Definitely putting that on the list.

Or if I cam it and stay NA:

285= 2550
275= 2350

Man, sooooo tempting

I agree, the way I read the rules it looks like the RCCK is legal for SM.

on a side note, isn't the idea to have the best pax for your car? then why not race FP? it has a better pax and more allowances than SM.... just saying

2.5 turbo AWD car's weight limit is 2970 with 285 or 2770 with 275

It's 1800 base weight + 300 lbs for each liter of displacement. Turbocharging adds 1.4 liters displacement on top of the standard 2.0 or 2.5.

I actually really thought about making my car an FP car...but once you build it for FP it's kind of hard to go back to SM Keeping myself in SM means I can't go beyond the (already costly) rules and just mod the driver, not the car.

fp you have to run a restrictor on the turbo too. A bit over 2" IIRC. And the way I read the rules the RCCK is legal in SM, and definitely illegal in SP.

whoops, I was multiplying (1.4*2.5) ala XP rules per page 187 pf the 2010 rules. It does say that for SM it's 1.4L of added displacement, so (3.9*300)+1800.

Well, that's still easily obtaniable, I wouldn't have to add *that* much weight.

Autozone sells 9" J hooks with lots of thread. I used those and stood the battery upright in the stock battery tray with the stock tie down. If you're not driving it everyday I highly recommend a battery tender. I left it for a week and it didn't have enough power to start the car . Stupid me.

I did the same thing. Deka ETX14 lying on its side in the factory battery tray, Autozone J hooks plus the factory tie down to keep it in place.

lol......

On-topic, FP breaks the WRX out on a separate line as the "Impreza" and you cannot add forced induction to a car that didn't have it to begin with. I'm drafting a letter asking the SEB to combine all Impreza's like it used to be. My honest to god plan was to do an 06 WRX swap and run FP with the Brighton, but saw the appendix listings and had to abort. I think it would be extremely competitive right away.

2,457cc engine

2,457*.75 (piston engine) = 1843
2,457*.375 (Forced Induced)= 922
2,457*.075 (4 Wheel Drive) = 185

185 + 922 + 1843 = 2950 lbs

Does that look about right Jay?

Yup it's in Appendix A Gagan. Cars will weigh no less than 1900 lbs but are not required to weigh more than 2500 lbs. We're pulling all that weight out of Justin's car tonight lol
