Default Did Anyone Else Attend The Air Show In DC? Pictures Inside. (Paging r0bman)

This past weekend the Blue Angels held an air show at Andrews AFB in MD. This was my first time with anything like this and it was a blast. I wish I had a better camera. These were shot with a 12 megapixel Sony P&S.

Less talking, more pictures.

I've seen 'em once or twice and you're right, it's a hell of a show.

Your pics don't looke that bad to me. But let me share my outlook on pictures and events like these.

I go to as many motorsports events as I can, mostly karting events. But every year since I've been in Colorado I've made the Pikes Peak Hill climb. Every year I'd get some good video clips and stills at whatever corner I posted up at. I'd get home and make myself a little movie for each year. I'd burn a couple of copies of it to give to people we went with and maybe watch it twice before saving it to my computer to never look at again. At last year's hill climb I accidently left the camera in the truck for about half the day. It was awesome to enjoy the race without watching it on my camera's screen. This year the camera isn't even going up the hill with me.

Not a bad killstreak combo. Harrier, Pavelow and AC-130.

Oops...sorry this isn't the Modern Warfare thread.

They put on an amazing show for the Naval Academy Graduation every year. Most of it is over water and such an incredible site from a boat sitting at the mouth of the Severn River and Chesapeake Bay.

Best thing I ever saw at an autoshow was the F-117 Nighthawk at Quonset, RI. I actually went through the pictures this past week and was reminded of it. I was about 12 at the time and was !

The coolest thing was when the blue angels were performing and 5 of them went from our left to right, the announcer told us to keep watching as they break formation, the
6th came hauling ass from behind us and scared the hell out of everyone.

I wanted to go, I really did - I was almost on my way with one of my pilot buddies - fact of the matter is that it is a cluster ****, getting in and out of the show is a total mad house and I refuse to take part.

I love the "buzz the tower" move on the crowd.

Copy. The line to get out only took about an hour though.

Yes. However that was the only aircraft I didn't board. The line was huge to crawl through the cargo and cockpit.

I half knew it was coming since I've read about it happening elsewhere. Still caught me way off guard. After it left you could hear all the people laugh.

I was waiting to hear the announcer go "Ha, got you good fu*ker."

I was there on Sunday. Great show overall, I really enjoyed it!

The F-22 demo was very impressive. Also, when the Blue Angels did their "surprise" maneuver, it scared the crap out of some people near me, but I was expecting it...as was my dad, who says it's one of his favorite parts of the show. There were four Angles flying in formation, one did a VERY low high speed-pass across the runway (I think it was #5, and about 15-20 feet off the deck from the looks of it!) and right as he started his climb out of the pass the #6 Angel came from behind at a pretty low altitude and made some kids pee their diapers.

Wouldn't have minded a few shots of the Cat behind her, either. I love me some 1940 paint scheme.

Planes with confirmed kills give me the chills. 65 years later the same planes that helped win the war by ending another person's life is right there in front of you. Lots of respect.

Hey that C-17 is from McChord AFB! I may have ridden on that thing for 58 hours straight

You didn't miss out by not getting onto that thing. I've seen the inside of them WAY more than I would have like to and experience tells me that there isn't much to see...
