Default Anyone see the living section in the globe today?

An article about auto tuning- with a stunningly cute girl on the front, and her 2002 WRX that she "spent more than $20,000" upgrading.

http://www.boston.com/dailyglobe2/29..._vroom_+.shtml

If her pic gets out to the nasioc community as a whole, her life, as she knows it, is over.

A quote:
''I spend a lot of time in my car,'' says Sammi Tong, 25, of Weymouth, who in fact owns two -- a sporty 2002 Subaru WRX that she drives on weekends and a 2003 Mercedes CLK 500 that her father urged her to buy because of its safety. ''So I like to make it look good, make it look nicer, perform well, and be safe.'' A business major at the University of Massachusetts at Boston, Tong has invested $20,000 to soup up the Subaru. ''I think it's worth it,'' she says.

Hmm, I actually heard decent things about T3 Motorsports. When I was hanging with the Nissan crowd, there was a guy named Mike who worked at T3 who had an extremely cool S14 Silvia with a built SR20DET swap, S15 headlight conversion, and a whole tone of other nice goodies.

Don't really know too much about the shop, but Mike was a pretty cool guy.

thats funny. Sammy is a friend of mine and the wrx is her boyfriend's car and not hers. she has a clk 500 and her previous car was the MB C32 AMG. she is super cool and her boyfriend's car s sick!!! i sold him my STI gauge cluster, EDM seats, fog covers and a bunch of other stuff. if you want to see his car you can go to T3MOTORSPORTS on Huntington Ave in Boston.

THat'as the car that was on the front of the living section! Now imagine a really cute asian girl in front of it.

I don't see the $20,000 though.

I'd love to see the car now. When I saw it, which was ~2 years ago(?) he had just installed the S15 fenders, hood and lights. So the fenders were a different color than the rest of the car! It looked kinda ghetto, but you could immediately tell it was a true work-in-progress, as the enormous FMIC and Z32 TT brake kit were clear signs that this was no rice-mobile...

Next time you see Mike, get some pics of the car!

Cool car, but I was never too crazy about the whole "different style wheels in the rear" thing. Or front. However you look at it.
(Except on drag cars, I suppose...)

Hmm. Don't see a pic of the girl on the article, must just be in print, not the online version. All that's there is an ad for Long's Jewelers.

Here's something interesting from the article:

"Upholstery fashioned out of Gucci, Louis Vuitton, or Prada fabric. A GMC Yukon tarted up to look like a high-end Cadillac Escalade. Supersized rims that stretch as wide as 28 inches spin or sparkle with shiny chrome."

The upholstery thing isn't surprising. Wish I could afford it. But 28" wheels?!?!?!

That's GOT to be a misquote... (or is it?) I've seen 24"s but that's it....
