Smile Oil sump pan, dipstick tube and dipstick

Hello I'm a newbie!

I own a 04/04/2001 bugeye subaru wrx. I understand it made in Japan for UK spec and registered in 2002 in UK. Vin :JF1GDAKD31G009489.

I have a question on oil sump pans, dipstick tubes and dipsticks.
I had my engine out and while there decided to deplace a dented sump pan doing work myself. I ordered from advanced automotives in UK a pan 11109AA053. In removing the old oil pan i had to cut the dipstick as it just would not come out. So i ordered from same company a dipstick tube 1544aa011 part number. It fits fine with new o rings. It is bolted to the block and is seated well.

I put dip stick in and reads zero oil. No matter the orientation of the dipstick. The car has 4.5 litres of oil in.

So i ordered a new dipstick and still nothing. Although it was same length of original i had. I'm confused...

Are there different length dipsticks? Looking at 2nd hand ones my tube n dipstick look no different to others.

I understand the pan is 00-07 and tube 02-07.

If someone can help that be anazing. Speaking with company sheds no light on matter.

According to Subaru:
11109AA053 Oil Pan fits Baja, Forester, Legacy, WRX 1990 - 2006

1544aa011 Does not show up in a Subaru or Google part search so something is wrong with the number you have provided.

According to Subaru:
15144AA011 Engine Oil Dipstick Tube fits
- Baja, Forester, Impreza, Legacy, Outback, STI, WRX 1996 - 2012

You apparently have the correct pan & dipstick tube but do you have the correct dipstick?

And, yes, there are different length dipsticks for different pans / tubes.

If it were me, best first approach would to go back to Advanced Automotives in UK and purchase the correct dipstick for your pan & tube.

However, this is the correct dipstick p/n for your pan: 11140AA046

Would help to direct you places if you filled in your profile. Can only guess you are in the UK

Ok will do. Not used a forum since my Renault 5 Gordini turbo in 2005. Will get familiar with it ASAP. Thank you so much for the help 👌🤗
