Doesn't look half bad. Hopefully it's not a complete turd.

matters not if it is or isnt. Caddy will change the name and model in 3 years to something completely different to 'revamp' the brand again. CADDY is like an STD that keeps coming back. Nobody wants it and it sucks when it appears again.

Cadillac Lyriq spy photos seem to show high-output AWD model
It could be called the Lyriq Sport, in keeping with Cadillac trim nomenclature
https://www.autoblog.com/2022/12/05/...rt-spy-photos/
Quote:
We've known for a while now that the Cadillac Lyriq will get a 500-horsepower all-wheel-drive variant to go along with its entry-level rear-drive version. And thanks to these spy photos, we believe we've now finally seen the high-output Lyriq. While not dramatically different, a close look reveals some updates that make this quick Caddy sportier looking.

The most noticeable change is at the front. The lower grille area now features a pair of mesh grilles in a lower, deeper surround. It has a more prominent chin spoiler that extends out to the edges, which visually lowers the car.

The side skirts appear to have slight extensions, too, in order to match the front. This Lyriq is also wearing a set of wheels that hasn't appeared on any of the standard Lyriq models. And at the tail, the lip spoiler at the trailing edge of the hatch is more prominent than on the standard model.

It seems likely this model, what with its more aggressive styling, will be referred to as the Lyriq Sport, in keeping with Cadillac's trim lineup of Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport variants. As previously mentioned, this Lyriq probably has the dual-motor, 500-horsepower powertrain promised at the Lyriq's introduction. It's possible that Cadillac will also offer the powertrain in a slightly stealthier Premium Luxury trim.

We expect that the all-wheel-drive Lyriq will be revealed within the next year, since it has already been announced.

The rear is awkwardly attractive, similar to the early 80's SeVille.

not worried about names persay as the design ques did not translate as well. Unless you are saying that there is another car in the proposed lineup with that back end design language.... if so, then that would be a relief.

Different cars. The good looking one is $300k. The other one is for peasants.

precisely right. Caddy should only make cars like this. 150k should be the starting price for the base model caddy. There is nothing that people with means like more than to exude wealth. Look at Rolex watches, same thing. If caddy is ever to be anything again. They need to be a status symbol. Chevy will absorb the sales for all the mid range crap product that Caddy sells now.

Hey man, the Escalade does well at attracting middle class folk who over leverage themselves in debt.

^^^^ well that is true, but these things need to be priced WAAAY out of main stream suburbia.

Having said that, one of my neighbors just bought a Ferrari, but that is FAAR from the norm around me. Usually a bunch of trucks and minivans and mustangs actually.

Saw a Lyriq on the road. Definitely stands out, that rear 3/4 is eye-catching and is decent looking for the segment.

Wild. GM did the same thing with the Hummer EV: released it for sale before letting the press play with it.
