![]() If you have a problem with what's happening, PM opie. I think he's been tasked with monitoring this middle school drama club. At least, he was originally.
Other than that... buying the LEDs from diode dynamics after I post this. Edit: hell I might as well replace my license plate lights before they burn out, what exactly is the procedure for changing those? I never saw an easy way to do it during the 50 times I've had the panels off the hatch. Last edited by drpoop; 05-12-2017 at 03:05 PM. |

![]() I looked at it, and it's supposed to be able to be pushed, but mine aren't and I had to use a tool to pop them off. I tried with quite a bit of force, enough that it was starting to worry me that I'd break something.
I ordered a pair of HP5s for my eyebrows and a pair of HP3s for the license plate. |

![]() I've replaced by brow lights with some DD LEDs. Getting into the spot was a pain in the ass. Its a twist motion. I needed use a screw driver as sort of lever to get the light housing to unscrew. I went with not so bright and a little cool, not cold. I think though going for the warmer color would have matched the h9s better.
As for the license plate lights. I also replaced those with LEDs. There is a rubber gasket surrounding the housing. It creates a lot of friction when trying to remove the covers. Both of the covers. I remember slide the same way. I forget which way it was. One came off sort of easy, the other needed some cursing to get loose. |

![]() Could I just unscrew the headlight housings to get to it if it's really such a pain in the ass? I don't think they're attached at that many points, should be able to get them off easier than jamming my hand in a tiny area.

![]() Which do you think is less of a hassle in the end?
I'd prefer a 20 minute job that requires 5 tools over a 10 minute job and no tools but extremely frustrating because of tight spaces or finicky connectors or whatever. actually this seems easy enough: My wheel well liners don't really exist anymore after one too many harsh winters so I don't even need to remove them. ![]() Well I take back what I said about the rear hatch lift supports. I noticed today that when closed, it was rubbing on my left tail light and started to chip away the door + the light itself. I put the old lift supports back on for now.
![]() It appears my hatch has always been slightly off when closed - with favoring the left side. Is there any way to adjust this to help center it a little bit more? |

![]() **** **** **** ****
I got a hole in my driver side front tire today... It seems like it was a nail that somehow pulled itself out (or got pushed out by pressure) because there's nothing in the hole anymore. These tires aren't new enough to be able to just replace one without raping the center diff and front diff. They're not sold at local tire shops, and even if they were, I doubt most of the local ones have the ability to shave tires to size. They're Dunlop Signature HP all seasons. 205/55-16. Any ideas? Should I order a single tire to an installer that can shave the tire down or just take this opportunity to get Pilot Sport AS3+, even if that's freakin expensive? And yes, the hole is in the shoulder part of the tread block so my plug kit can't repair it, nor can any shop. At least not safely... This is about where it is. |

![]() Personally, I'd measure the tread and inspect all tires-it's possible you may find another nail or any other defect you never knew about. If tread is less than 5/32" on all 4 or you find more defects, I'd consider replacing them all. Doesn't really look like you're that low judging by the wear indicator in the pic, but I definitely recommend you measure to know for sure.
Where did you order your tires? I know TireRack offers free road hazard protection for 24 months with most orders, and I've used it twice already with virtually zero issues. It also looks like TR carries your tire, so you can order a new one and pay an additional $25-35 to shave if you'd like. I haven't used this service yet, but I believe you'll need to call/email sales to place your order and request it. |

![]() They were from tire rack, but I deleted the email account that was associated with and for some reason none of the passwords I could think of would work to log into the tire rack account. Really don't feel like going through the trouble of getting my account back from them. Plus they'd have to refer me to a tire shop probably 20 miles away in a place I've never been to and I'd have to take the tire there during rush hour, and yeah I just generally don't like dealing with bull**** like that.
I asked opinions from a couple people who work on cars and they said it's fine to patch/plug. It's not quite as close to the sidewall as it looks, really. It's a good 1.5-2" away from the sidewall, so very likely not a dangerous patch job. So that's the end of that... good thing it wasn't another half inch over or I probably wouldn't have considered patching. |

![]() I didnt research that particular tire, but have in the past, found used replacements on ebay, for much less than new. Already shaved by being driven. Went through a few on the saabaru because of potholes. 215/45-17.

![]() I'm amazed they couldn't fix that... A couple years ago I had a piece of metal gouge into my rear winter tire almost totally on the corner of the tread. The piece of metal was almost the size of a small throwing star and it cut a 1" slit in the tread. Brought it into a Fountain Tire and he got it patched no problem, tire is still working great with no leaks... A simple nail hole still on the flat portion of the tread should be an easy fix.

![]() Well they can plug a tire anywhere they want. The real question is whether they want to A.) sell you a new tire or new set because AWD B.) Risk the lawsuit when your sidewall explodes after they patch your tire.
