Default where can i find out how many cars are driven in the united states?

or owned to just basically how many cars in america are running that consume gasoline

... also found a neat statistic that more pedestrians are killed yearly than motorcyclists... That'll be useful next time someone says "you're gona die on that motorcycle!!"

According to this document, there's about 230,788,000 registered motor vehicles (gas or otherwise) in the USA. Page 3

edit: Can't use that arguement...

Yesterday a city bus ran over a lady in SF and today SFPD did a "crackdown" on the intersection and handed out a whole lotta tickets, averaged out to be one every 2 minutes for a couple hours.

Try the Federal Highway Administration's Highway Statistics annual reports (most recent is 2003). It will also give you info about the amount of fuel consumed, highway funding, etc.
