Anyone know if the 2012s have intelligent enough traction control to act like a LSD rather than an open differential if you have say, diagonal wheels off the ground?

The other day I saw my twin white 2015+ impreza sport on the road. We followed each other through traffic on the highway. I noticed that he was running ultra bright daylights. Does anyone know what kind of bulbs are needed to have the daylights run so bright?

I already have h9 for my night lights. And LEDs in my brows. I would think with such a bright DRL his highbeams would be blinding.

I thought maybe changed out his resistor? Any thoughts?

Most likely LEDs. I looked into this since Subispeed carries them but they noted at dusk/low light situations they're pretty obnoxious and bright to oncoming traffic.

Default 2012 transmission woes

I have a 2012 Impreza Sport Premium with the CVT. Had my short block replace about 2 months ago and I had issues with no AC (dealer purged it and then didn't replace) and now I have a P2764 (Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Low). Had AT fluid flushed and replaced, still throwing the code. Next check is to make sure harnesses or connected properly and transmission properly grounded. Does anyone know the location of the harness and connector?? Thanks in advance.

They do, but it's apparently not as aggressive as the XV's.

I just had my CVT replaced last week, my 2012 impreza had 99,287 miles on it, it threw out 2 codes.P0700 -TRANSMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM, P2763-TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH. My dealer said when they try and replace these parts the cvt never turns out right, so they replace the CVT's. I got a remanufactured CVT from ATC Drivetrain, INC USA, flushed the trans cooler, high perf gear oil, 12 qts cvt fluid and labor for install all for $100.00 deductible. The $980.00 I paid for an 5yr 100k mile extended warranty was well worth it, esp since I had a front strut replaced 2 years ago.

Notable at minimum for "In speaking with IL, Subaru of America's executive vice president, Tom Doll, confirmed that the 2012 Impreza will go on sale in the United States in August." I'd like to note, though, that it states that the '12 will go on sale in August, but doesn't actually state whether or not it will be redesigned for 2012.

When you have an LED DRL/high beam there is no difference between the DRL function and full high beam, so basically he was driving around with his led high beams on

Hey, quick question for those of you who got the UEL Tsudo headers on, it is known that. Cel P0420 will come on since is catless, talked to Matthew (TH) and his tune is most likely to clear the Cel, so my question to all of you will be, did you passed emissions? I also saw a vid of a guy on youtube saying something about a 2nd O2 sensor that needs to get extended.. does anyone have pictures or a clean and nice write up of the installation? Will be very much appreciated, read is a bolt on thou some peeps had to modify?
Thanks again.

There's more to passing than having no CEL. Several "monitors" or tests have to run and pass as well. This is why you won't pass immediately after resetting codes.

Is the extra 5 HP really worth the greatly increased emissions and this headache?

Portland has no clue how to test cars. Make sure the codes are not going to show up, drive around for at least 100 miles, and you're fine. I've seen rustbucket pieces of crap spewing out cancer fumes like a diesel rolling coal still pass. And of course, there's no exemption from testing even for brand new PZEV/ULEV cars because, again, they're idiots. And old cars and giant diesel trucks (the most polluting of all vehicles) are also exempt.

In short, DEQ are a bunch of braindead idiots. It's ridiculously easy to pass their piss poor OBDII "emissions" test.

I agree with Keen though that running catless on this car is stupid. Irresponsible at the very least.

Very true, that is why I had my doubts about it, just did a Lachute muffler delete, resonator delete, a perrin filter to replace the oem filter of the air intake plus a TH tune... pretty happy with how the car runs so far...

I just noticed after a couple of months, my LED brow light (diode dynamics) on the driver's side is flickering. I did just get my car washed, I am thinking something must have knocked loose over the last couple of months. I remember the pods be very difficult to install. So I hope it's just that I didn't turn the casing on tight.

Anyway. Here she is clean.

It turns out that the LED itself is faulty. I gave it the old in-out in-out a couple times, and even switched sides. Still flickering. I've requested a warranty fix with Diode Dynamics. Supposedly they have a crazy warranty period of 3 years.

We shall see if they honour it.

I'm sure they will. They wanted to fix my issue with my HP3s being way too cool in color, and how the HP5s didn't really seem as bright as they should have been. I've ignored the email so far because I really don't want to deal with sending them back, but I have no doubt they would have sent me a full new set of 4 LEDs. I just don't know if maybe I'm expecting too much and I'd just be wasting my time sending them back.

Does anyone's car ever feel sluggish and hesitant when it's very humid out? Especially those of you with the CVT. Went for a drive today and it just did not have the usual pull it does around 4k RPM. And to add to the ruined fun, I was driving on some twisties and my tires just got increasingly worse at traction as I went on. Maybe all season compounds have the opposite effect with heat vs summer tires, or maybe the roads were getting wetter as I went.

Oh yeah, for sure. I was thinking about posting something about this lately. Although when you say humid, do you also mean higher temps? 80s? 90s? That's when I notice it most. Not so much with humidity alone, but in central MD the two really go hand in hand.

I notice a significant difference when the A/C compressor is engaged. The CVT wants to "upshift" way too soon from a stop under light acceleration with that thing on. I usually kill it before merging even though it's supposed to do it on its own. I'd rather have the response sooner.

But the CVT also seems to behave that way in hotter/humid conditions overall.

Well today it was only 60s but very humid. It doesn't tend to get hot and humid around here much actually. Usually one or the other.

Have you opened your air filter recently? Maybe the humidity is gumming up whatever particulates in your air filter? Just a guess. I pulled a dead bee and lots of bird feathers from mine yesterday. My CVT hates the heat. Humid air, I don't know. In California it's always dry. But wet air really doesn't carry cool oxygen as much as cold dense air... It's not a surprise the CVT or any engine would feel the effects of humid air.

They sent me (on its way) 2 new bulbs, and I didn't have to send mine back.

It has less than 3000 miles on it and it hasn't really been dusty but I'll look when I get a chance.

2012 Subaru Impreza

Need Help. Looking for instructions on how to replace part# 86257AJ200. USB/AUX. Does it just pop out and is it a plug and play? Do I need to remove the center console to access?
