too big for a phone
too small for a computer congrats mr. dell... you managed to hit the sweet spot of niche un-usability. |

I use my iphone more for browsing the web and chatting than I do holding it up to my ear. I don't think I would mind the extra size there either. My pocket can fit the extra size as well. Last edited by JjSwee; 01-29-2010 at 12:50 PM. |

Dell Streak, coming to the US $500 unlocked, $??? on AT&T / T Mobil
By the power of search, we revisit and update this thread.
Who's sort of intrigued by this? I'm a big lummox, so I can probably carry it more easily than one of you skinny effers. Dell wants to call it a tablet. BS. It's a huge ass phone / web appliance. Pro: Basically an Incredible with a 5" screen and a forward facing VGA camera Con: AT&T / T Mobile (no T Mobile around here) Quote:

What a terrible idea. HTC has the Android phone market, make a ****ing actual tablet or don't make anything at all. That thing's going to flop terribly.

They're "positioning" this as a small tablet. It's not. It's a big phone, with the same features as most of the other latest smartphones. Most of the reviewers say it's right at the boundary of pocketability and borderline dorky when held up to the head. I'm a big guy with a huge head, so it won't look so weird on me. |

It will also be a WiFi hotspot when Android 2.2 comes to fruition. It's been rooted/jailbroken, so the Dell skin can be ditched if necessary. As a highly portable, highly capable smartphone/media device, I think it's a nice niche. If I don't get the iPhone 4, I'll probably get this. My wife is committed to iPhone so I'll probably stay on AT&T to keep the bill consolidated. Otherwise I'd be eyeing the DroidX on Verizon, which gets better reception around here.
