Nope, just one drain plug. And I had the dip stick removed so that air could get into the tranny as the fluid drained out.

In case no one has thought to offer this wisdom, if you are getting a new impreza take a few minutes to degrease your lug nuts, the factory coats them with grease that will gradually fling off covering the wheels.

You can clean it easily (I used a rag and rubbing alcohol) but it would be easier to degrease them when you get the car home, put something on the threads and torque them back on, than to clean your wheel later.

When I rotate my tires I'll get the rest of the grease off them.

Ah yes, the infamous sludge that eventually makes it out to the center of the wheel. In retrospect, I should have done that. I might have to wait to get all the grease off when I go to rotate the tires.

It was pretty painless to get it off? I was considering goo-gone, but if alcohol works that may be less harsh.

rubbing alcohol works fine, and so would any degreaser, but I did choose alcohol because it wouldn't harm anything to try that first.

When I pull the lug nuts off I will soak them in my degreaser and reinstall with a bit of anti-sieze and a torque wrench. The grease, if any, should be placed on the threads not on the outside of the lugnuts.

Gunmetal gray wheels look good dirty, but without that center grease they look much better.

I noticed that too when I changed them for aftermarket ones. I couldn't believe how many weights were on there.

Same here for me. I have a line of weights about four or five inches long on three of my wheels. I was surprised when I saw that

Well we just got our 2012 Dark Cherry premium for the wife to go with our 2012 WRX (which we got 2 weeks ago).

Going to scotch guard the interior tomorrow morning.

It makes you wonder just how far out of balance a low profile tire can get. There's nothing to them!

Wouldn't those weights be counter balancing the TPMS device inside the wheel?

I like that theory, especially if the weights are on the opposite side of the wheel from the valve stem.

Does anybody else find the stock horn to be a little on the weak side? It seems kind of whiny to me. Is is difficult to replace/upgrade?

You can always get a set of Hella Supertones horns as they are pretty loud and I like the way they sound. I've already had 2 dopes on the road almost hit me and when I tapped the stock horns I felt like a dope..

My feelings exactly! It's like people don't even hear me when I honk. The stock horns really fail to express my displeasure/anger with whatever is going on. I see that the Hella Supertones aren't really that expensive but my only concern is the installation. I'm more of a check the dipstick, tire pressure and coolant level type of guy.

My buddy ordered his Supertones kit from Subimods.com (Horns, mounting brackets, and relay wiring harness). He had someone do the install but I'm sure the instructions are pretty self-explanatory.

Just drove 191.3 miles recorded by a automotive gps, car displayed showed 186.5 miles. Both were resets at the beginning of the trip. That puts the car display off by 2.57+-1%. Also I have notice that my time is off. I initially set my clock 5 min fast. Now, 4 months later and 11k miles, it is 9 minutes fast.

My clock is running fast too. I've already adjusted it twice since I took delivery in mid december.

Would there be any possible bumper removal involved? That's what I'm scared of/hesitant to do.

Thanks for the input Stan!

You would just have to remove your grill. I will actually be tackling this install in the next few days. With Subimods (kit) the install will be fairly easy/straightforward - once you get the grill off of course.

I saw that too. Only thing I can think of is that with the height & suspension it will handle a bit more off road type of driving/terrain. Would bigger brakes be needed for that?

maybe, but the wheels are the same size, so would be a nice upgrade for the Impreza

hey, will 215/50/17 fit ok on our car? it is 0.4 inches taller than 205/50/17. reason being is that the DWS is 13$ cheaper per tire. is it worth it?

Good call. Someone already ordered an XV front strut bar. This will open up a lot of parts for us.
