Default SSAutochrome TMIC - 03 WRX (actually X02 Racing)

I bought a used ssautochrome TMIC from eBay, these are the parts used to make it fit my 2003 WRX:

- autodynasty Y-pipe kit
- 3" long by 2.75" inner diameter silicon hose for throttle body (sporthoses.com)
- various washers
- dremel

- I trimmed just over 1/2", possibly 5/8" from the TB hose to allow the TMIC to fit good. Three inches is just too long and won't allow the intercooler to sit down far enough. Using a TB hose of proper length should keep the intercooler away from your AC lines.
- I used some metal and rubber washers as spacers for the mounting brackets. I used 4-6 washers under the TMIC on the passenger side to get it to level up enough. I need to get a picture for that.
- I used the dremel to shave a little bit from the driver-side bracket (the bracket attached to the engine). This bracket might interfer a bit with getting the intercooler to line up on the passenger side.
- I couldn't get the passenger side to come down any further because the coolant line from the turbo is wedged between the compressor and TMIC.

Final verdict:
It might not be as plug-n-play as more expensive intercoolers but for what I paid it required little work to get fitted properly and it functions fine.

My pump gas tune made 253WHP (conservatively) and 277.7WHP on 100 octane on a Dyno Dynamics dyno; stock 2.0L WRX dyno'd 145WHP.
VF22, STi injectors, fuel pump, TMIC, XEDE computer.

Some pictures after having this TMIC for a while:

Still straight. I've had to switch back to a hacked Samco Y hose because I tightened the SSAC Y hose too much and it cracked a bit.

Using the rubber washers as spacers is what's most likely causing the TMIC to look like this. I'm going to put some more metal washers under the passenger side mount to level it up.

Pushed all the way down. Getting a TB hose the proper length will let the TMIC sit all the way down and guaranteeing it not to rub on the AC lines. Washers go UNDER the bracket to bring it up level.

This is what I mean when I talk of trimming the driver side mounting bracket. Notice where the rust is on the black bracket, that's where trimming should be done.
