![]() I have a process west TMIC on my 04. I was curious if the Cusco screen protector will fit over that or is it only rated to fit on OEM WRX / STi Intercooler?
I think its called the Intercool Protection Net but its not specific on if it will work on aftermarket TMICs. If you guys know a better one, please link it to me - appreciate it

![]() Seriously, you don't need this. But it's your money so spend it as you wish.
This is nothing more than a marketing gimmick to separate your from your money. I never had any clogging issues as the product item describes, and we have lots of leaves everywhere in the fall coming down for a couple of months up here. At most, once in a while I might pick some bee or something out of one of the fins but that is rarely necessary. |

![]() I use gutter guard on both of my cars. Roll was like $6
Nothing is going to clog it like the guys said. Mine is purely aesthetic. The top mount on my LGT is 13 yrs old. Barely has any bent fins. Twice a year I pull out an ice pick and tiny flat head and spend 30 min straightening the fins. Do I need to do this NO. There is no performance gain. I just like un-mashed fins. Also helpful for twigs, bees, acorns and the like. Last edited by shadowsports; 09-11-2020 at 11:18 AM. |

![]() Had the 04 STi hood scoop with the TMIC and FMIC without any screen or "protector", never had a issue. Had a plastic bag hang up on it once or a big leaf but that it. Never any damage. Now if you are doing Rally where there are rocks flying at your car then ya. But at the point i wold be more worried about eh windshield.

![]() Sorry for my ignorance - I'm a new (to me) 04 WRX owner so this is my first turbo. I replaced the TMIC and just wanted to avoid the vents getting pitted in by debris. Apparently the Cusco item I'm looking at doesn't seem to be what I am expecting to be...

![]() Not a problem. How is one expected to learn if they never ask questions?
All we are saying is that your money is better spent elsewhere, like fuel. There are a lot of things out there that are no more than marketing gimmicks and totally unnecessary. |

![]() I actually also really appreciate this thread!
I was debating on buying this to prevent bent fins, but the more I read about it, the more it seems like bent fins don't really cause issues and you can just fix them yourself. So good thing to know I don't need to buy this since it's actually pretty expensive in Canada. |
