Default OT: Test drove B200 turbo

Just want to share my impression..

Car was equiped with bi-xeon, leather, and paronoma roof, cvt automatic..

Power: Pretty good power for city and highway driving, can't feel the turbo lag at all because it's so smooth. The accel pedal is light, like a japanese car. No more of that heavy pedal feel, which is good to some, bad to others. I fall in the latter group. The heavy pedal feel is very "mercedes" imo, it separates me from driving a german import and a jap import.

Brakes: Very good. The car is light with little under 1300kg.

Transmission: Again, smooth. I can't feel the gear change, I guess this is the trend that everything needs to be smooth. Personally, I like it raw and violent like my wrx, I know I don't sound very civilized.. =)

Control: Suspension setup has very good ride quality with good control when needed. Did some hard right and left turns and the car seem very well-planted. Very comfortable.

Interior: Very roomy, no complaints both as a front and rear passenger, only thing is the driver sits too high. I cannot see the hood at all. Very friendly controls as expected, nice leather, etc, but the steering wheel is way too soft. I mean literally it is soft, it's too light of a feeling, but what do you expect for a sport tourer right? i tried the new ML steering too, same feeling, they say it's the new design, softness. Again, i like heavy steering feel, but not to the point with no power steering.

Exterior: I think it looks good. Some will say it's like a mini van, etc. I say it's different. Sure the new yaris looks kinda like it. But believe me, there is no comparison here. Coming from a sedan world, the B-class is truely something exciting to me.

Overall: Smooth, quiet, elegant, just like a mercedes, what do you expect?

The C-class has been out for too long, so I didn't bother testing that. Moving from 1 c-class to another is really nothing to be excited about. So I think that's out of the equation. Now I gotta try the Lexus IS.
