Wanted to give these guys another thanks, as Mikey's currently working on my new injector setup and soon to be e85 tune.

I won't let anyone else touch my car. Absolutely top notch.

Thanks.

I've had my car tuned twice by them. Specifically STI Mikey. They are consumate professionals. Ron has been educating me on e85 (unbeknownst to him) on the e85 army thread. Mikey is a hell of a tuner and nice Guy. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Subscribing because I'm about to start a tune with Mikey.

Already I can say his patience and level of professionalism are second to none.

started my tune by mikey this weeks and definitely one of the nicest guys out there, ive been to shops where you would spend 3 hours just to wait for the car to go on the dyno, as soon as i met up with him he started preparing my car before we went out. he treats the car as if it is his own. we ran into a few problem with the car he told me what needs to be done and the price not many tuners do that. right now i got a base map on the car but looking foward to this week when we can finish up my tune.

never delt with ron but if he is as good as everyone says, i would only bring my to them to tune

It's not often that you come across someone who is extremely competent, detail oriented, professional, timely, and helpful. Phatron is just that. The guy clearly know what he's doing. He produced an E85 tune that has safety and power written all over it, and it's super responsive. I wasn't really sure what to expect from an E-tune. Phatron helped me with my Wideband hookup, communicated via email very quickly, and kept on tweaking the map until is was perfect. It usually took only several hours, if that, to get a response to my logs. Overall, I'm very pleased with the results and the entire experience. Great customer support.

Mikey sure knows what he's doing. We had to start over per my request, the car didn't felt very smooth with running a half-maf scale. This is what the car makes with 21ish psi.

Twice I have been tuned by the infamous Ron of Phatbotti tuning, and twice now Ron has been outstanding to work with.
This time around I had Ron tune my stage 2 2011 STi, headers and intake included.
The car feels excellent after final tuning, and now I get to enjoy driving the piss out of it.
Obviously I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Ron for any tuning needs and he is always a great conversationalist when talking over the phone with him.
Don't forget to ask him about the game smile, funny ****!

I have to hand it to Phatron. I'm blown away by his tuning skills and small attention to detail. I've been tuned by other so called top named tuners but always went away disappointed after spending $500-1200 in a tune and not having ANY customer support or feeling that my tune was rushed so that others can also have dyno time. Its the complete opposite with Phatbotti tuning. Before I was even a customer Phatron was already answering all my emails and giving me tech support for tunes that weren't even his! Sorry about that Ron, but this shows your true character and ability to help people where other tuners won't. All this help and their Prices are very competitive!...

Ontop of all this awesomeness I was able to log on my own time and be in complete control of my car. Too many times I've been scared to hand my keys over to someone I knew was going to push my car to the most extreme limits with little care. With road tuning I had more peace of mind because I was able to check my oil levels after every pull and look the engine over for any loose hoses.

I am extremely happy with my tune and Rons work. As long as these guys are around I will always recommend them and they will always be my tuner.

Thanks guys

Ruben

Ron e-tuned my 2004 WRX and I can not say enough good things about the experience!

I would recommend him to anyone considering a tune for any reason, and I will be going back when I can upgrade to a larger turbo. I couldn't believe how quickly he responded to both my inquiries as well as the requested information. I would send my log/requested info to him and usually within 10-15 minutes I'd have a new revision. Emails and texts were answered almost immediately as well. It didn't matter what time of day or night it was. Absolutely amazing!

This was my first e-tune, and like others before me I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I was a little apprehensive, but I am sure glad I waited, searched around, and found him. His tuning method is flawless and he is exceptionally experienced and knowledgeable. After working on this for months myself, I could never get the car perfect. Within the first few revisions, Ron managed to get my MAF scaling within 1%. Car runs perfect. We never saw any knock throughout the entire tuning process. Tune was very safe and conservative and also very smooth. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Ron put up with a lot of my noob questions, as well as me bombarding him with probably way too much information. He always took the time to respond back to me completely and always gave accurate and complete instructions as to what he was looking for.

The first final revision ran well, but I personally asked for a little more tapering for the wastegate tables and 10 minutes later, the revision arrived and was dead on.

Ron is a stand up guy who goes the extra mile to make sure his customer's are both taken care of properly and also are very happy/pleased. If anyone is looking for a tune, they needn't look any further. I would recommend and return to him myself for any future tuning needs; no questions asked! I simply could not be happier!

Thanks Ron! You are the best!

ron and mikey did a number on my 09 gtr and 2011 wrx. i could not be happier! they put more time and energy into working on both cars then i've ever seen any other company do. If you are considering getting a tune, get one from these guys, they really know what they are doing.

Just had Ron e-tune my 2011 WRX. It's amazing what a difference in power and feel my ride now has, even when compared to Cobbs OTS Stage 2 tune. It took about 3 days and 10 iterations to get it dialed in, which goes to show the level of detail that Ron puts into his work. Couldn't be happier!

I was looking for a reliable Tuner for stage2 E85 e-tune. I kept in touch with PhatBotti after I hadn't received any answer from the another well-known Tuner for 2 weeks during the middle of my work.
Ron's method was very similar to my ideas. The competency and the general practice could be seen during the whole process. I received his answers as fast as I thought he never sleeps. He also handled my unique demands (such as max boost) very fast and extremely flexible way.

I am planning to get stage 3 (FP68HTA) next spring and I would like to ask him to make a program for it as well.

I have two different tunes from Ron, One on pump 93 and the other with 93 + Meth. I will never work with any other tuner on my Suby.

Ron and Mikey bring tuning services to a whole new level.

I had Ron tune my 07 Sti on E85 back in June. Since then, I added an EWG, UP, and PW TMIC. It wasn't even a question who would do the tuning. Ron was just as prompt in his responses this time as last, and his attention to detail and tuning skills are second to none. Repeat customers are a testament to the quality of work Ron brings to the table. I'm thrilled with the results of my tune as my Sti is making gobbs of reliable power now more than ever. If/when I add more bits and pieces, you know who will be doing the tuning

I almost forgot to mention. Ron got back to me at least a month after we were done tuning, to give me a new map for the cold winter months ahead. He want to make sure that I'm running at the safest levels possible. That was unsolicited help on his end. That kind of service says a lot about him...

Talking Phatbotti Tuning

After reading other reviews I knew I could expect good service from Mikey but I honestly didn't expect it to be quite this good. He is extremely dedicated to customer satisfaction and truly loves what he does. He will spend as much time as it takes to get things as flawless as they can possibly be. I can say without hesitation that he is one of the nicest and most polite and considerate people I've ever met. I can not imagine anyone not being able to get along with Mike. With that being said...

My story starts back in early August when my Stage-2 (OTS Cobb) 2011 STi blew two ringlands in #2 and #4. My car was built, upgraded significantly, and tuned by Speed Industry in Michigan and after several delays it was an absolute NIGHTMARE when I got it back. I didn't really have any reviews to go on and I took a risk as it was the only place within 3 hours of my house. $15,000 later just and about everything you can think of was screwed up. The tune was really rough for daily driving and had multiple lean spots at partial throttle - the WOT was too lean (11.6 ish on pump, sometimes 12.0) and was pulling 5 degrees even on 94 octane (tuned for 93). The boost controller air lines were wrong (all 3) and it would only run either at wastegate pressure or it would overboost in Sport# throwing codes. All the injector seals and o-rings were damaged (on all 4 injectors), the fuel pump was installed incorrectly and the surge tank had been deleted. They also removed my rear o2 so the crusing AFRs were a full point too rich. They even manged to melt and yellow my rear bumper and destroy my drivers side door seal. Long story short: It was the biggest hack job you can imagine and then some.

I did not know about all of the issues when I got the car back, I just knew the car felt like garbage and I knew I did not want to take it back to Speed Industry. I had no local tuners and I was pretty confident wrenching and laptopping the car myself, so I did some research and discovered Mikey had an excellent eTuning reputation. I contacted Mikey through NASIOC and had a pretty prompt response. After a few eTuning attempts it was clear there was a lot mechanically wrong with the car. We spent hours on the phone and Mikey was willing to work all night to try and resolve my issues. He was not frustrated at all... I couldn't say the same. I was definitely getting agitated with the car. Mikey was totally willing to keep working with me (without asking for an extra dime). I repaired the fuel pump and a few other issues but it was clear there were still injection and boost control issues.

It was becoming apparent that eTuning was an inefficient way to try to resolve my issues. I am perfectly capable of wrenching on my car but with winter approaching (this is my daily driver, and I live in Canada) time was running out. After some discussion Mikey offered to drive _12_ hours to my place and stay over the weekend to resolve the issues - for a very reasonable cost.

Mikey ended up driving 14 hours and through some pretty rough snow (on drag radials no less) and arrived at about 1am Friday night. Mikey brought some new injectors and a boost controller with him and was totally willing to get started on the car even though we were already into the middle of the night. I decided to let him catch some sleep and we got started Saturday morning. After swapping the injectors (this is when we discovered all the seals were destroyed on the existing injectors) and discovering the boost controller was installed totally incorrectly we were in business. A few revisions later the car was maxing out the intake and pulling like a beast without knock.

The car was running flawlessly by Saturday night but Mikey still stayed through Sunday just to hang out and keep an eye on the tune. I showed Mike around the area and drove around for most of the day with the car running perfectly. We deemed it complete and just hung out for the rest of the weekend. Mikey left this morning after working even harder to try and find me a 3" intake (we maxed out my MAF on this intake).

I honestly don't think you'll find a tuner as dedicated to his customers and as passionate about tuning as Mikey. It's really a no-brainer. His prices are reasonable and his work is fantastic.

A++, Highly recommended.

-Dave.
