Default Blown Head Gasket / cracked piston, Good Repair Shop?

Hello,
I just blew a head gasket or more likely cracked a piston or ring on my car and was wondering if anybody knows of a good repair shop in WA besides the stealerships? I read about shops back east removing the engine, putting in new pistons, basically rebuilding the engine and putting it back in for $1650 and was wondering if anybody knows of some place like that around here?
I'm in the Spanaway, Tacoma, Puyallup, area.
If not I might just do it my self again but would like to put in better pistons but I don't think just dropping them in would be a good idea.

Thanks for any replies!!

Search is your friend, as are the sticky threads.

You probably live ten minutes from one of the best subaru shops on the west coast.

I usually think all the "stupid noob" comments are retarded.......

But common! You have been a member for 5 years and you can't figure out how to search? Seriously...?

Question Pia

Just go down to your local gas station garage. They should be able to do a great job!

NO, just joking. You should go to Pacific Import Auto especially because they are so close to you.

I'd take it to jiffy lube they should be able to take care of you ; ) In reality I'd say PIA, Maxwell power, or even John at Outback in Auburn. Pia would be a for sure though.

Alright,
Sorry for sounding so dumb, I've been out of the local suby community for a couple of years.
My car has been running awesome for the last couple of years on a hybrid engine that I built and installed myself so I've focused my attention on other things like buying a house, a couple of quads and getting out of debt.
I see that things haven't changed much and the suby community is still alive and kickin with lots of new vendors and what not.
Anywhooo I remember world one, I bought a bunch of stuff from them back when they were in Seattle. And I've been to most of the other shops before.
My mind just kind of went blank since its been awhile.

I think I want to check out Maxwell Power Systems for a build. I read some of there posts on here but haven't seen anything from them thats really new. Anybody heard from them lately?

Thanks for the help.

Also you guys forgot to mention Carrol Shelby, I hear he makes really fast cars!
