Newcomer to the Fitness thread reporting in.

Just recently started lifting seriously again since college (2 years ago). Would really like to be a bit leaner, and hit some personal bests and goals on the major lifts.

6 foot, 170lb right now.

Goals:
Bench: 225
Squat: 275
Deadlift: 300

Hoping to hit these pretty quickly, as my strength has been quickly and steadily increasing since I've gotten back into the groove. This thread has been a great motivator to get back into it, and I hope I can post progress and success much like others here!

Staying at my current 197lbs with 11%BF would make me happy. I think I will continue the military type workouts I have been doing over the passed year and mix them up with some different strength training workouts as well.

Increase the BW and all the lifts will go up. Let the BF% increase slightly, you can easily lose it later.

To be fair, all those lifts are probably down a bit already. I lost 7 pounds in 4 days when I got sick over the Christmas weekend, and then just tested those 1RM's this past week without yet regaining any of that weight.

But I understand what you're telling me...

Glad to see this is up and running for 2011 already.

2010 was up and down, back and forth, and at the end, I didn't get to where I wanted. I was up hard pounds and getting stronger, then back down, up a few soft pounds, and back down again. When I was hitting it, my focus was all over the board, and I was trying to do too much without the proper knowledge and resources.

For the first part of this year my focus and goals are going to be for general fitness so when I get back to heavier strength training I can keep up with the effort it will take to meet my weight gain goals.

Cheers to a better 2011

I'd like to get 365 on flat bench, currently at 335 cleanly.

Also I'd like to military press 225 for 1-2 reps cleanly.

I have a strength day that requires you to deadlift 135lbs. for 5mins. You can rest, but try to do as many as you can and each week improve how many reps you get.

I have done 2 rounds of P90x. I had a seasonal job in Dec of hard manual labor just to change up the pace a little of the P90x. I just hopped on the scale and am at 240 after a good brunch. I want to try and get down to 180. I'm a small guy 5'6" so 160ish of nothing but muscle would be great. I'm staring another round of P90x lean Monday. I am strong as a ox now. I pulled my RS up a 45* incline with a tow strap. It didn't have a engine or trans in it but I couldnt believe I had gotten that strong.

Really need to work on my mil press. But I guess for hard numbers...
Snatch: bodyweight
Bench: 1.5x bw
Squat: 2x bw
DL: 2.5x bw

I don't really have a target weight in mind; I'm just going to eat what I can and lift.

Well it's going to be an interesting year for me. I'll probably leave my Badass gym and start working out at home.

Goal 1:
March powerlifting meet: 500 squat, 550 DL, 330 bench @198lbs

Goal longterm. I think I'm in trouble, I don't have one. I need to get my cardio back up and keep it there. Ride my bike to work everyday. Learn how to workout more efficiently. Possibly do a highlands competition.

I might have revisit the goals for the year after my first meet. Maybe I will find renewed vigor.

I want to see 10% bf, at about 175lbs. Then I'd like to see about 195 at 13% bf.

...cut down from 216 at 26% bf to 187 at 15% bf, so I know I can do it.

I'd find a new routine asap. I recommended 5/3/1 or starting strength.

So much for the gym today. I can't believe I was on the dancefloor til about 3am last night battling with some kid.

You know I'm sure there's a few of us that can use more cardio in our lives. With Pop having a goal to enter a 5K I think I smell a new OT fitness challenge. Best 5k time by June 1st maybe?
