Default 2015+ WRX Clutch Recommendations

I have a 2016 wrx, and i want to replace the clutch to handle more HP and TQ. What are some good companies to use, and which ones to stay away from? i am making 370 hp at the wheel and 360 tq. thank you

I would also recommend going with the new oem tob part#30502AA160 and getting the velox clutch fork and shift ball. The tob in the kit will be the old style oem that squeaks. I actually bought the clutch parts separately and saved a little cash.

I just bought a south bend clutch, but haven't put it in.

I read a lot of great things about them...

Toss it into the ring for consideration.

I've got the same clutch, like doing a leg press compared to factory. Kinda wish I had gone with a Southbend. I guess with 475+ ftlbs you'll have to deal with the pedal effort.

Any more bite to it than stock though? Iím intrigued by it feeling so stock-like and itís ability to hold so much power, but I also think the stock clutch isnít as aggressive as Iíd really like.

I put the SB Stage 3 Endurance for just a little more capability. I used the OEM SMFW with it, and it does have an OEM feel to it. I'm not sure what my engine will put out, as I am changing my sensors in preparation for Mike McGinnis to tune it next week. Target is 450 ft. lbs. at the flywheel.

I've driven 1500 break in miles on my new motor, and the clutch has been ideal. I will repost when I am putting more power through the clutch.

I have the South Bend Stage 3 Endo. so far really close to stock, yet some chatter and definitely has more bite. I really can't say how much different, as I went from stock wrx 6mt to STI full drivetrain swap with all solid bushings, so I can't say how much is just clutch and other mods. Clutch is not a workout as the ACT clutches are, that is the main reason I went with SB, as they are closer to stock than others out there. almost 1k so yeah a bit steep but well worth it if you are pushing close to 450 hp. if higher, they have a racing one and stage 4 racing which is rated at 600+, yet some people complain about some chatter with those. good luck

For what it's worth my shop used to deal exclusively with Southbend until they started having chatter issues with them. Now they deal with ACT with no issues thus far. My first ACT was an HDSS and now I'm running an ACT sprung six puck with a HD pressure plate. Although a little less streetable I'm very pleased with the quick break in and bite.

I must say after 800 miles on my SB stage 3 Endo.. man is this thing noisy!! just my thoughts.. does it quiet down with use.. I hope so lol.. ACT is tougher to push in, yet it might be the quieter one. I would say take a ride with people who have these, hear for yourself. My car got like 3x more cab noise after going with SB (granted STI trans. and that could be it as well, not apples to apples).

I have a south bend stage3 daily, on my 6mt. (25psi on a efr7163)

It's only slightly stiffer than OEM, I got stuck in an hour traffic jam going up a mountain pass, leg wasn't to bad after.

I haven't seen it posted anywhere, but I called TIC & asked them which one to get, I was leaning towards the endurance one.

He told me to go with the daily, as I live on top of a mountain & it's cold 3/4 of the year. He said the endurance needs some heat in it, otherwise it's super grabby-said I would NOT like it because of my cold weather.
