what about the CLA45? Though I think that would compete against an RS model rather than the S.

I trust the power (lot subbies running around Stage II with 350 hp or more). I don't trust the power deliverance.

You're also a daddy now, you definitely have grown up. In my parking lot at work, I have the most sticker'd up, colorful and "unique" looking vehicle (by unique I mean lightbar, seasonal wheels/tires, different color trunk, all the things that no one else does). I sometimes think to myself..."people probably think it ridiculous, how my car looks." And for a glimmering fraction of a second I consider getting rid of all that, cleaning it up, and being normal. And then I decide, no. No way. There is a grown-up in here somewhere. But screw him. |

There's nothing wrong with having a performance vehicle that doesn't rattle and is actually comfortable on the commute.
I mean, Garland figured that out early. People love getting into a spaceship coupe. I would never let my Mother sit in my car, and every girl i've had always complains about how uncomfortable my car is. While all I care about is hearing my turbo whistle while it spools...i find myself wanting a bit of comfort too which is something you'll never really achieve in a subaru performance platform |

I still miss my subbies though! Another one will eventually come when the wife gets a new car.
I have scrapped my OEM exhaust mod effort for those of you looking into welders for me. I am going to install test pipes for track purposes obviously and if I did this with the exhaust mod, it would sound raspy and bad. Thank you for the help though. I like pulling into the daycare parking lot and watching all the older preschool kids stare If I wasn't approaching it with a "cool dad" attitude it would be the perfect pedo van. Boys on bmx bikes love it.

^^Haha! Your WRX would double as a pedo van? What?

I drove my parents from Rockford to Chicago in my car. No complaints, but I know secretly my mom hated it. She hates my car. Has always told me, "Your car is not a toy." Damnit, yes it is. Quote:

I've grown up with the crowd that says "a car is meant to get to point A to B" and my argument was always "Yeah, but I want to get from A to B FAST" and now i'm at "I want to get from point A to B FAST, comfortable, and when I show up to B, i want girls' panties to drop"

My mom used the A to B argument when I was in high school until I offered to switch her cars since it wasn't a big deal to her. Then she just fell back to the "because I said so" argument.

No manual for the A3/S3.
This is flocking gorgeously muscular and hawt. The most muscular Impreza since the 22b. Did I read right though, it's not longer an "Impreza", as they are splitting the WRX/STi from the Impreza line? No matter. Still an Impreza to me. |

WRX and STI are going to be their own brands now from what i've heard.
That car looks mean as fack1 I'd take one in black right now. (never owned a black car yet) But as its a design, pretty much everything i like about this concept won't make it into production. I mean hide-away door handles ?! I wish. Headlights and taillights are obviously too terribly small to be put on a production vehicle. However as enthusiasts, we care about numbers and details. None of which was given. *meh* BUT supposedly the WRX will now be a 300hp of the assembly line vehicle ... which lends hope for an STi in the 350 range. This won't be your daddy's WRX. ^^^ I can say that line now b/c daddy has an '02 ! WHOOP |

I grew up in a "cars are appliances that you get new with a warranty and then complain about until it's time to buy or lease another one" family. I remember seeing a used corvette when I couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 on the car lot when we bought a nissan stanza wagon (yeah, the one that was on jalopnik recently in the motortrend review) for the same sticker price. Did not compute. Why no get 2 door sports car?
In HS I wanted to buy a cheap beater to fix up and learn on, but, see above. Apparently those are money pits that will cost more than a new car. Really? Refer back to what I just witnessed Wren do with that A4 wagon. There was a story on NPR about a guy who always wanted a motorcycle but his parents always said no. Then one day he realized he was a grownup and could buy one if he wanted. So he did. And now he and his daughter bond over it. Hell yeah. (also where I heard the Harley engine "potato potato potato" joke). I'm in that "oh yeah, I'm a grown up now" stage and buying the toys I always wanted And yes. Pedo van. My car gets the most attention from 6-14 year old boys. You guys haven't noticed that either? Got a "nice rally car" from a kid on a skateboard at a gas station, and at a campground once some kid rolled by on his bike and said "hey man, I like you car" in a junior bro voice. It was hilarious and Katie still says it to me all the time just like that kid did. |

I mean big wing, big wheels, big breaks, big hood scoop...featured in all rally and racing games. It was inevitable.
