Post 90-91 Legacy Suspension Upgrades

I have a '90 Legacy I am looking to begin upgrading & would like to start with the suspension. I was wondering what types of upgrades any of you have otu there with the older Legacy's & how you like them? I know these two years are different from the newer ones so I'm looking for some suggestions. Also what sway bar upgrades you may have as well. Thanks!

Naz53.. i am currently in the middle of a project for the 91 legacy. Which is prettymuch the same as the 90. I am going to H&R springs, doing the rear conversion (from tapered springs to striaght springs). also im getttin a 19mm bar from a 91 turbo legacy. The springs i wont do for a month or two as i just started workin agian and i have spent all my strut money on other things, whoops. but once i putt the 19mm in ill send you my review. Talk to a guy named matt walters he has also done the conversion only using the Eibach springs... hes cool and can help you out. Theres not much for the 90-91 legacy regarding suspension but things are gettin better for us. Im also interested in gettin the front and rear cusco strut bars. well thats all for now ,

I have the kyb gr-2's on and standard springs and 205/50vr16's and a 18mm rear bar because it is difficult to find springs for my car that will fit. I have a 90 legacy stick wagon (the ugly duckling). Handling is good better than stock and it grips the corners allot better very little hopping. hopfully I will really test it at the auto-x in camden N.J. I also had the underpulley put on too.

Question

Hey felix.. is the underdrive pulley noticable.. what do you think is it worth it for 180 bucks? i'd like to hear what you have to say on the underdrive pulley for your 90 wagon.

Thanks for the replies so far, BeAn how would I get ahold of Matt W., also felix I would like to know what you think of the pulley as well. Did either of your conversions lower the cars as well? I saw one add for springs & it lowered the car approx. 1.75", I don't have any problems about lowering my car I wouldn't mind. Thanks again I'll keep up with my upgrades & look forward to hear how yours are going, I know these two years are hard to find parts for.

You can get ahold of him by this emial address. [email protected] . The add you most likely saw was for Intrax.. dont think about getting them. Ive heard to many stories of bad quality and sagging after only 3 or 4 months. As far as suspension.. if you have the sedan i suggest doin the conversion. Or if you got the money talk to Mike at www.spdusa.com he can get a LEDA fast road setup for our cars. damn tapered rear springs cuaseing to much trouble, . any more questions just ask.. later NAZ53..

Felix you gonna answer the pulley question jeez nah its cool i just wanna hear your thoughts or anyones elses.

BeAn, I will be getting my car back on thursday. I went to my mechanic and it was ready but he needed to get the rpms up for when I start the car so I will not have to hold down the gas once it starts in the cold. He did mention when he drove it " this little car has some kick" I can't wait to get it and I am debating which event to go Wall twp ralley or Camden auto-x. I wanted to see what she can do. Especially now that I have the rim problem fixed.(I'll have a set in the back just in case) The gr-2's kept it at the standard height, but I am still looking for a set of springs I might have to go OEM(yuk!)
