So this car has changed owners and the V12 went elsewhere also. I fitted a VVT 2JZ and auto for the current owner. It has a GT3788 1.11 turbo, Link G4 ecu, falcon throttle body and all the usual stuff. Got it running and up to temp today. Runs great on the default map.

I use a t400 in a jeep truck with a sbc. I switched to the t400 for reliability. I started with the jeep t90 which didn't last long then a saginaw passenger car 4 spd with a hone overdrive that also didn't last long. The difference was a 400 rpm increase at top speed from converter slip. I haven't had as good of experience with the 4l80 as far as durability. I have yet to find a knowledgable 4l80 tranny shop for high hp and torque, There must be some though. I spent 1700.00 on the last one including converter anf it overheats probably from running the pressure to high as it has hard shifts.

Planning to buy car back when current owner has some fun. Give it 6-12 months.

As long as he doesnt throw it into a ditch I'll give him every cent he's spent on it, and put a V12 back in it but this time forged rods/pistons, proper turbos and a beefier gearbox.

What did you do to the subframe/motor mounts for the 2jzgte?

Read the whole thread, all the subframe mods were done to house the V12. The 2JZ was then adapted to that.
