just thought of something, is the the torque this car will make a blessing in disguise for any cvt tuners. the cvt is capable of handling up to 277ft lbs stock. right it may be coming with 258ft lbs. tuners trying to modify their autos may be able to tune for more horsepower while keeping the cvt at the 277ft lbs it's already built to handle. the may be capable of at least tuning to 300hp, 277ft lbs on a cvt without it slipping. of course manual owners will be able to tune to way more, but at least the auto buyers can do something with their rides

It's not a CVT, it's an SPT.

Doesn't this CVT carry 295 lb/ft torque in Japan?

I believe they have premium 94, we only go up to 93. but yes that is true. it would make for interesting ECU and ethanol tuning. the FA24 block is capable of over 400hp with bolt ons. Subaru made adjustments to the engine itself to handle more power. if we get around the look of the car, then we can appreciate the vastly improved performance. and mind you the FA24 in the wrx may be just a taste of what comes with the STI, difference being no cvt bandaid, and no eyesight nannies

Just another automatic like the DSG.

Interesting. Is that why the BRZ doesn't have a CVT?

Completely different platform, but you knew that already.

I'm not an engineer or an expert, I can only speak to my own experiences with the 2018 Focus RS that I owned. I had tramlining in mine, which supposedly could be corrected with different tires (traded mine in before I needed new ones). It also on rare occasion at WOT would have tugging/torque steer even on smooth pavement. Wasn't a constant thing but it was rather surprising, and a quick Google search shows that other people in the community had the same issue. The RS was a fun car, but it had its quirks. I think having it made me more appreciative of the STI's drivetrain despite the understeer.

Last five cars I've have been two Subarus, a Toyota, a Honda, and a Ford. I'm not a fanboy, I recognize that every car has tradeoffs, especially in this segment. My point was just, there's a benefit to always driving all four wheels even over some of the more sophisticated on-demand AWD systems. And personally I like Subaru's AWD for the kind of driving I use my cars for.
Fair point from your situation

False, troll a tiny bit harder next time. He is one of the most popular reviewers on YT for a reason and the car looks fantastic.

OK that is true but you can still get this car with a 6 speed. I am willing to give the GT trim at the very least a test drive ? I mean the DSG ins't all that exciting outside of WOT.

It looks better in that poor lighting. All the ugly black blends in and you can't see the terrible details.

On edit: the gaps on that car are terrible. They're totally inconsistent.

Just because someone is popular, doesn't make them great. Just means there are lots of lambs led to slaughter. It's like not knowing you're in a cult, until it's too late.

Also I think he is very annoying, especially the stupid zonk crap of his. He offers nothing of real interest to enthusiasts, just more rehashed corporate crap. The amount of Rally heritage he always brings up makes me want to throw up.

I've been subbed to Raiti's Rides since the S209 released and I don't really know why. I never watch his videos for more than a minute or two. Sometimes I think it's just because I'm interested in what a newly released car looks like maybe? But, yes, he's very annoying to listen to, even if I enjoy that he's a Subaru enthusiast.

If you think he’s a good reviewer you must think McDonald’s offers 5 star meals
