Ok so we're just in the process of installing the original ej25 back into my car. However, with the stock ecu being... "missing", I simply purchased another ecu/key/ignition barrel/immobiliser to install and things were great. Installed them, car started a zillion times over on saturday, no problems.
Leave it in the shed overnight, come back to it sunday... and it won't start. Nothing changed and all of a sudden there's no pulse/spark. In other words, the ecu isn't getting the immobiliser "go" signal. We've done ecu resets and testing other keys and so forth and it's just completely unexplained.
What we'd like to do is essentially bypass the immobiliser just like running a full replacement ecu. However, we're not sure whether the immobiliser sends an actual signal to the ecu, or if it's just a power/ground flipping of a switch. If it's the latter, it's just a matter of powering/grounding the wires that connect to the ecu and away we go. If it isn't, then I'm going to need to buy ANOTHER ecu/key/immobiliser/ignition barrel.
Anyone in the know?
