Default ignition key ring light install?

anyone know of a write up to install an ignition key ring light into my 2002 WRX sedan?

help, please.

and yes, i've searched..

02 and 03's dont have them stock? Never knew that... 04+ all have em.

Try searching for an 04+ ignition key ring then and just replace it with current one, should slide right over the ignition key cylinder just fine.

i have the ring, i just need to know which wires to tap into.

My 02 has a ring, but as far as I know, they don't illuminate! Does yours have a bulb in it?

EDIT: I see you found one that does. Maybe you can splice off an interior light that lights up on entry?

He has one from a year that came with them. 02 did not but 03 up does.

How many wires run off of it? Im assuming its power and ground. If so you can get an add a cuircuit from autozone and run it from an accessory power spot that lights up when the interior lights come on, then ground it to the negative terminal on your battery or bare metal somewhere.

The ones that have it from factory, its connects to a harness with only 2 wires being used. LEDs use two wires: power and ground. Ground is self explanatory. Power, splice it into a switched 12 volt wire. All set.
