The IAG Performance Cooper ring head gasket is manufactured from an asbestos-free composite raw material and features silicone based beading applied to critical areas to improve sealing around all water and oil passages. What sets this gasket apart from others is the separate stainless steel rings surrounding the bore holes. The rings assure maximum sealing for a turbocharged engine and the block and head do not require any special machining. The IAG Cooper ring gaskets are designed for high horsepower, high boost applications. The gaskets are not recommended for blocks or heads that are o-ringed. This gasket set is sold in 1 pair.

His gasket in the picture doesn't have a fire ring for the cylinder bore. You can clearly see at the failure point no o ring in the gasket. He even states that in his post.

It's just not in the picture. You can clearly see the witness marks from it.

Not seeing any sign of a fire ring around the cylinder bore. Not sure what you're seeing

Yes and IIRC I mentioned this previously.

IAG offeres 2 head gaskets with this sealing ring
IAG COOPER Gasket which requires NO SURFACE MACHINING and has the o rings for cylinder bore.
IAG FIRE LOCK gasket which requires machining of the surface to seat the o rings for the cylinder bore.

I believe you but i too do not see any ring or marking on the surface. Can you take some pics of the ring? Did you put in that gasket or was it done at the shop? Maybe the wrong gasket was installed.

If this is the gasket you say you have then you can clearly see the rings around the cylinder head hole.

Your pictured gasket does not show a ring unless you took then off or if they fell out.

Is that them in the first pic top right corner? If so then nevermind.

It is that gasket you linked. They no longer sell this gasket with 14mm studs however when this build was done they sold that gasket for 14mm studs.

I took the rings off before taking the picture.

Yes that is them in the first pic top right corner

Mine IAG 950 short block with EFR8474 at 32 psi making about 700whp but for daily i'm usually around 25 psi, failed after about 10k miles

That Athena gasket looks like straight up paper gasket material.
