Getting RomRaider to work with OpenPort 2.0 (definitions)
Hi All,
Trying to tune a 2007 STI, and I can get the OpenPort to function fine with it, however Rom Raider has the options that I am looking for (I have more experience in RR as well). The problem I am running into is I need the definitions for an 07 STI, I got the cars_def from the RR Github, but I am getting an error from RR when attempting to load them (Error loading. Unknown exception). It would appear the RR forums are dead now so I can't ask there. Does anyone have a copy of valid XML files for RR? Thanks

Romraider has slowed down but not dead. Is the map a .bin or .srf. RR will only open .bin ecuflash want to safe read files as .srf you need to change it.
Post 2 has your ecu def https://www.romraider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=360 Here’s your logger defs also https://www.romraider.com/forum/view...php?f=8&t=1642 I even think when you load RR it directly links you to the webpages. Now if you’re wanting merpmod you will need specific definitions for them and they’re under the 32bit speed density section. Romraider doesn’t pay friendly with merpmod. Have to use ecuflash. Then dimemod has a totally separate logger/defs/maps/version of RR (worth every penny) Sent from my iPhone using NASIOC |

Hey Z thanks for the reply. Yeah I get an "err_timeout" message when attempting to visit the RR forums. So I can't see them at all.
Yeah the problem I am running into is I can pull a rom off the car with ECUflash, but as you say it is in srf format not bin like RR wants. Is there a method to safely convert srf to bin? I'd really rather not brick the car. ETA: Oh I can see the RR forums when on a VPN. That's odd. OK cool, thanks for the link! |

I was only able to find 2007UsdmImpreza2.5i-E2UG002L_v1.xml
Which I can use to test on my 2007 Wagon, but that isn't an STI, I can use the same memory model in in EcuFlash, but idk if that is safe to do in RR. When I pull up the STI .srf file and choose the above XML file for the definition it throws the message "This definition does not seem to match, do you want to load it anyway? The first Rom in the Definition will be chosen." |

You just save file then when pop up window shows name option delete the .srf and replace with .bin I can’t remember if you have to select bin in dropdown box also or if it does it automatically. I can check over weekend if needed. If you need help email me. I pmd it Sent from my iPhone using NASIOC |
