Sounds great, see you there if you come! Tomorrow might be nice day to wax if it's no sunny. Don't wax in the sun.
Joe on '06 TR might stop by, he lives in Nashua now. |

Books for Jesus sp?
Not sure if I got the spelling right. I went through a quick list of good books, and essential reads for anyone who wants to know why their upgrades are better, more than just their car goes faster.
Much of the books I am listing were read for use in my other hobby of fighting robots. Information in these books goes beyond your subaru and builds problem solving skills, as well as good life skills. I recommend anything carol smith has put onto paper. He is blunt honest, and has done that, been their. His books may have been published in the 70's, but little has changed as far as fundamentals of engineering, and materials go. Engineer to Win http://www.amazon.com/Engineer-Motor...e=UTF8&s=books A good starting source on material properties basic stress and strain, and why decisions get made. A great primer before you get into anything deep. Carroll Smith's Nuts, Bolts, Fasteners and Plumbing Handbook http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/087...344707?ie=UTF8 Would you like to know why the bolt you bought keeps breaking, bending or striping? This book has it. Want to purchase hoses to reduce line ballooning and handle heat fade better, again this book. remember, their are no material failures, only engineering failures. Tune to Win http://www.amazon.com/Tune-Win-Carro...e=UTF8&s=books Fundamentals of vehicle dynamics, what shocks, struts, roll bars, bushings, and things that move and shouldn't move do. Explains understear and oversteer. VLad, you need to read this to keep your ass end going where you want on exit 8. Drive to Win: The Essential Guide to Race Driving http://www.amazon.com/Drive-Win-Esse...e=UTF8&s=books Most of us aren't drivers, this is the truth, and this is the book to tell you why you aren't. prepare to win http://www.carrollsmith.com/books/prep2win.html Super good book on details. I 500 hp boxer can win the race, but a blown fuse can loose it. Most races are won or lost before the track. Engineering books which are good for when you decide that the stiffener isn't stiff enough or the linkage isn't linked right. Machinery's Handbook http://www.amazon.com/Machinerys-Han...e=UTF8&s=books Current in 27th edition but anything 20 and up is usefully. This book has everything. bolt strengths, thread percentages, drill design. dry reading, but good to have as a refrence. Machine Shop Trade Secrets: A Guide to Manufacturing Machine Shop Practices http://www.amazon.com/Machine-Shop-T...e=UTF8&s=books Lots of info on how to fabricate. drilling holes is allot more complicated then one would think. Performance Welding Handbook http://www.amazon.com/Performance-We...e=UTF8&s=books helps you choose what process for what application. They all have their place. Maximum Boost: Designing, Testing, and Installing Turbocharger Systems http://www.amazon.com/Maximum-Boost-...e=UTF8&s=books I have not finished reading this book yet, but so far lots of good info. Scientific Design of Exhaust & Intake Systems http://www.amazon.com/Scientific-Exh...e=UTF8&s=books Super good book on air flow design. A dry read, but suffering through it is better then loosing power to some stupid oversight. Good reading depending on your goals with this. My view of modding of any sort. : A process for self exploration, and development through the application of science and the use of technology. To create something that has form follow function yet in the beauty and simplicity of function requires no attention to form. If it won't go faster, stop quicker or turn sharper, their is no need. Have fun RobotRob |

Corky Bell is 82 miles away from me. I have been down to his shop a few times now, and I have seen the turbo that is on the cover of that book. There is a dyno day there in early october with a BBQ too |
