Road trip to BC
Well, on the annual road trip up crom Calif. to BC, saw only 2 Bajas on the way up I5 and 97 - a grey/silver one on the Hwy. between Yakima and Ellensburg, WA and another grey one in Summerland, BC. Wonder what the return trip will show??

Took an 800 mile round trip to Corning, NY and saw a total of 3. One maroon on silver on a small road parallel to 88 west, loaded down for camping. One black on silver at a rest stop on 88 west. One solid Atlantic blue at the NY thruway toll plaza.

Return trip and a question on towing
Well, on the way back from BC I only saw 1 Baja. It was a dark grey one being towed behind a ginormous RV by some retired folks up in Cascade Locks, OR.
Which brings to mind a question....I thought that AWDs like the Baja should not be towed without the front end up on a dolly or the like?? Seems to me I read someplace about that being harmfull to the transmission, etc.. If you disable the AWD with a fuse as in when you have to use the donut spare, that shouldn't make any difference when its turned off and being towed, right? Just curious..... |

I think, but not sure and am too lazy to go get the manual, that automatics aren't supposed to be towed flat but sticks can.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. |

stickshift can be flat towed but automatics must be put on a full trailer or worst case scernio unhook the rear dive shaft and dolly it. The fuse will not cut it for the automatics.

I have a 2003 baja sport in Gander Canada. As far as I know it is the only one in the province. It definitly gets some looks and a lot of questions.

Saw a Blue n/a with WA tags in the parking lot where we park for work. Everyone at the office noticed and made comments about the fact that there were two in the same spot.
Hope you enjoyed your visit to McMinnville!!! |

I didn't see it but some of my family was in NC today and saw a baja pulled over along I-95 in NC. They said it looked like me but wasn't so assuming it was a solid silver one.... was it anyone here?

Spotted a duplicate of mine at the UW-Parkside campus parking lot, Black Pearl over silver, last week and I had a guy stop me at the bank to ask how I liked my Baja. He has a 06 silver/silver one but I've never seen it on the road yet. That makes a total of three Bajas in Kenosha that I know of. Other Subies are all over the place, but the Baja is rare.

Took a trip from NJ to Dahlonega, GA a few weeks back. Didn't see any on the road at all either down or back. However in Dahlonega I did spot two. A Monterey Silver passed by as we were dining in a restaurant. Also a blue Baja parked on the street (possibly owned by a Realtor as his card was on the dash). More recently about two Sundays back, in Mount Olive NJ, a blue Baja with bike rack parked in Perkins Restaurant lot. last week in East Hanover NJ, a black/silver parked in front of a Scuba store on Ridgedale Ave.
Also on Ridgedale Ave last week, a blue Baja parked in the Pool/Spa store lot. Any Jersey Bajas here? |

If anyone out there happens to pass through central Tennessee and see a gray/silver '05 Turbo with a "Bonnagoon" sticker in the back window, that's me. Feel free to wave, none of the local Baja owners seem excited enough to do so.

In the parking lot where i work, Spotted a Black/Silver '03 Baja. After a few weeks, the owner came up to me as I was putting something in the backseat of mine and we had a nice 5 minute discussion about the cars.

Yesterday morning, I parked my '06 Silverstone Turbo across from a Monterrey Silver at the Wawa store in Malaga, NJ, just as it was leaving. It was raining pertty hard, and I couldn't see the driver as he/she pulled away.

Another one at 7:45 this morning!! The seemingly-popular yellow, sitting on Evesham Rd at the red light at Evesham and Black Horse Pike in Glendora. I beeped and waved, and the wave was returned by the gentleman behind the wheel.
PS I'm still watching for BLUBAJA03, since we live in adjacent towns!!! |

I also have a yellow Baja, well my wife does. We are in South Jersey regularly. There are STPR stickers on the back window, bug defecltors on the hood, and a CB antenna. Otherwise stock.

Last night on the way home, I saw an Atlantic Blue NA in the Sunoco on Evesham Rd in Magnolia. I had to pull in, I wanted to say "Hi!" to the driver...a nice guy indeed! I told him about the Scoobytruck site, and then left him a message on there directing him here. So, hopefully we'll see him onboard soon! Welcome "C"!!
"C": if you're reading this...I didn't know if you wanted your name posted. I forgot to tell you about this site. Hope to see you around...Glendora and the forums! - Dale |

Last night, on my way home, Saw a black and silver Baja with an after-market ski or snowboard rack on it. I was in the maroon/silver with gold wheels.
