Default 07 wrx ewg questions please help

right now i am running the stock td04 custom tuned. I am doing the Grimspeed exhaust manifolds and cross pipe. I want to do the up pipe but don't want to do the job twice. I am upgrading to a 20g in the spring and i am looking for 350whp until i do the internals.
would an ewg have a negative effect on the stock turbo?
Also do i go with a 38mm or 44mm ewg setup? with the stock turbo i can always use the Grimspeed ewg block off plate then bolt on the ewg when i do the 20g.

Are you running an aftermarket downpipe? If not, that should be your first step if you're looking for power, ESPECIALLY if you're going with a 20g eventually. I'm going to assume that you have one though for the sake of this question. An EWG will have a nice but minimal effect on the stock TD04. It will ensure there is no boost creep and will help you hold boost more solidly. It should give you a couple ponies(also minimal) and it may give you a bonus to your spool up time(if at all). It won't have any negative effects that I can think of, just make sure you are tuning for it though.

38mm will be what you are looking for. The 44mm is overkill for your current turbo and still not really needed for your future turbo. Make sure you get the bracket to hold the 20g's IWG shut. You can get them from GrimmSpeed I believe.

Thanks yes I have a Perrin catted dp and sport cbe. STI tmic, drop in airfilter, silencer deleted, Subtle heat shield. Will be installing Grimspeed manifolds, high flow cross over pipe, GS ebcs, wallbro fuel pump. Now I just have to figure the best turbo and what size injectors. I would like to do a GS intake manifold and tgv deletes when I do the injectors
