TurboXS V2 3" downpipe, catted or catless, fits without modifying the chassis brace, but will need the stock turbo heat shield either removed or cut to fit

Injen bell-mouth downpipe will not fit without modifying the chassis brace to create clearance.

What JDM grills will fit the Baja? I was thinking the BE/BH would, but I thought someone told me the were different for some reason.
Looking at a JDM Legacy B4 style grill, considering the Baja is getting a Legacy 2.0GT Spec B engine and trans.

Looks like a B4 grille is what Jared from Jalopnik is running, you can take a look at his article comparing his Baja to the '16 STI or fitment pics.

Default 05 Outback (turbo) Engine into a 05 Baja turbo.

I have a 05 turbo Baja with a blown engine, bad brakes, and no exhaust.
I bought a wreaked 05 Outback XT (turbo) as a donor car.
Do you know what parts are interchangable?

QUOTEEE=honda killer;30771021]Upgrading Bajas are a little frustrating, as we all know, because websites/manufactures are not clearly labeling their product as "Baja Compatible". We're forced to do more homework than other, and bounce ideas off others. While that seems fun for other, I find it slows down my work.

I'll start the list, and you reply with updates; then I'll update my main post for quick reference.
Here are some things to get started on:

*******************************Keep in mind the following******************************
If parts are coming off of other Subarus, make sure to list the year and series of vehicle. Also if a part has to be altered to fit, IE trimming; rewiring; welding; or cutting; NOTE IT with a DIY scale of 1-10. Picture are welcome too.
************************************************** *************************************

Top Mount Intercooler (TMIC)
1. USDM STi intercooler (2004-??) Fits a stock Baja turbo with modification to the 90" elbow between the turbo and Y-pipe. The length needs to be changed slightly. Also it requires the Sti or 2.0l wrx bypass valve, Y-pipe, bypass valve vac. line. The bypass valve hose that goes to the intake needs to come from an STI to clear the electronic throttle body. the hoodscoop shroud will no longer fit properly with any larger TMIC.
NOTE: sometimes while in reverse engine rock causes the intercooler to impact the clutch reservoir cap (5MT) a few shims under the mounting tabs where it bolts down will angle the rear up the intercooler up and solve this.

Tumble Generator Valve (TGV)
TGV Deletes
Fuel Injector
Throttle Body
Intake Manifold
Up Pipe
1. 02-07 WRX & STi are compatible, make sure to reinstall the EGT sensor
2. Bosal catless up pipe is a direct bolt on- It is essentially the same as the STI although it may have thicker flanges. Does not have EGT bung so the CEL will have to be turned off at the ECU or the resistor mod. It accepts OEM heat shielding.
Down Pipe
1. Random Technology makes one that is a perfect fit, NO modding (DIY Rating 2)
2. Helix Catless DP requires some cutting to fit (DIY Rating 3)
3. OAKOS Automotive downpipe fits the 5MT Baja turbo with no modification. It clears the brace on the firewall and everything. It is catless and 2.5" diameter.
Brakes
1. Front Brakes: The Baja shares the front brakes with the 2003-2005 WRX. Rotors and brake pads are directly interchangeable.
2006-2007 WRX 4 pots (red) and the older JDM 4 pots (gray) will bolt up (uses existing rotor) but will not clear the OEM wheel choices. Will need different wheels or wheel spacers.
2004 STI Brembo- direct bolt on, needs larger wheels for clearance. (Must be 2004 STi rotors as anything after that will have a different bolt pattern). May need to dust shields behind the rotors.

Rear Brakes- Baja has same rears as the outback H6. So anything pad or rotor listed for the "H6 rear" will bolt right up. There are some decent choices as this is used to be a pipular upgrade for 2.0 WRX guys back in the day.

Fuel Pump
OEM Radio Deck
Driver/Passenger Seat
Steering Wheel
Air Bags
Center Gauge Cluster (RPM, MPH, Temp)
Exhaust Manifold/ Equal or on Equal
Turbo Charger
1. STI turbocharger is a direct bolt on. It will fit the stock intercooler with some creative stretching and wiggling. But swapping in a proper length Y-pipe is best. Of course with the USDM STi intercooler and Y-pipe it is a perfect fit.
Radio Deck
1. Radio Deck- Basically anything Subaru the same year or older will fit the baja. I replaced the OEM 6 disc with a 2004 WRX head unit to add a tape deck. I also think the illumination matches a bit better.
Short Throw Shifter
1. Short throw shifters- anything for a Subaru 5MT (WRX, FXT, LGT) of the same model years will fit the Baja 5MT turbo or non-turbo. Anything from the SPT assembly to Kartboy lever or bushings.
Clutch
1. Clutches- 2004-2005 Baja turbo can use anything intended for a 2002-2005 WRX "pull style" clutch. 2006 Baja T is a "push style" and is compatible with 2006-2007 WRX (I do not know about later models)

I’m looking to switching out my grill as well. I think the normal grill vs the outback grill is shorter and leaves a gap

Anybody replace any of the seats in their Baja yet? I hate these front seats compared to my WRX seats. Has anyone confirmed whether there are any other Subaru seats that will just bolt right up. Also, the rear seats I was considering to swap for the Legacy back seats to give me that middle seat as I struggle without it. Any help is appreciated.

Default Floor Mats

Husky Liners model 34031 fit the front floors perfectly. And they come up high enough to not catch on the clutch pedal/your clutch foot.

Weathertech rear mats for an 05 Legacy fit in the back but the bump over the driveshaft tunnel is a bit high so there is some space. Easy to pad up the bump a bit to fill that gap.

Not to steal your thread, I just ordered a 02 thru 07 non catted up pipe from CA auto parts. They had a Stainless tig welded unit with a flex joint for 49.99.
I told them I was installing it on 2006 Baja and they said it would not fit, I told them to send it and I will not return if if I have fitment problems.
I think a piece of trash from the catalytic converter ruined my compressor wheel. I may put a catalytic converter in the exhaust pipe.

Everything I have read on this forum says the up pipes are interchangeable with a WRX or STI for the same year.

I just got my 2006 WRX up pipe for my 2006 Baja and It will not fit. Not even close. Mt Baja has a TD04-13 turbo.

That *is* unexpected! Can you post pics of the flange of uppipe you were sent and the inlet of your turbine housing to show the differences?

Don't, because the factory intake is already cold air. Remove the snorkus if you absolutely must have induction noise.

Cobb SUBARU TURBO HEATSHIELD 2002-2007 WRX, 2004-2008 FXT, 2004-2020 STI
( https://www.cobbtuning.com/products/...-2004-2020-sti ) fits the Baja Turbo with the stock bracket. I had to reuse the larger of the two heat shield bolts since they only sent one size bolt with the product. Fits over Blouch 16G with Turbo XS downpipe; should fit stock turbo and DP as well.

Well for all you guys who have EJ255's that crapped out, I can confirm that the EJ20Y/X engine's do in fact bolt right up and connect to the factory wiring harness. A few sensors need changed and a custom downpipes needs made if you decide to use the twin scroll that comes with it.

Question Baja NA to Turbo?

I've lurked on forums in the past to see how big of an undertaking it would be to turbocharge my NA '06 Baja and it's pretty discouraging to say the least. Anyone have experience doing this?

It's easier to just sell it and buy a Turbo model, sadly.

You can open source tune a 2006 NA, but... You're limited on what you can do, mostly by cost to performance ratio.

see some turbo kits on Xcceleration's website: https://www.xcceleration.com/engine-packages.html

they are for the NAs, might be worth checking with them to see if they fit the Baja Sport...
