What a great idea to create a reference of what works with what! I have a rather gutless 2.5L version with an automatic transmission that I am thinking about doing a swap in. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

For tuning I have purchased an Ecutek licence. I recently added an 08 STi turbo and TMIC and Millitek downpipe. I am waiting on Mann to tune and looking for a catback that fits and is not overly loud. I think I may try custom shops as finding anything built is impossible

Ristiphx. I know it might be a bit pricey but the xcceleration.com turbo-back is quite nice. Has a good sound and good fitment and is not overly loud. Been running mine for over a year. you can easily carry a conversation inside the car or play music.

I own the xcelleration exhaust and get compliments on it all the time; at the track.

The fit is perfect!

I would really love to have one, but $1,975 for a turbo-back exhaust sure seems like highway robbery...

You only need to buy the axle back, any WRX or STi down pipe will work; and an exhaust shop can fill on the gap.

That should save you $1200, if you buy a used down pipe

Installed the SPT Air Intake (part # SOA8431000). This part is designed for the 2004-2007 Impreza WRX STI. Had to drill 2 new holes in the support bracket, but other than that it fit well. I can hear the rush of air when the turbo spools now in addition to hearing the BOV operate but I have to keep the radio off to hear it. Possibly a bit quicker spool-up and definitely feels like more torque down low (but the stock air filter had 30K on it). Pics are located at http://s254.photobucket.com/albums/h...ake%20Install/. Now if I could just talk my significant other into letting me spend the $2K for the turboback exhaust.

I have the sti TMIC with stock bov and it is slighly louder than our stock TMIC and BOV with SPT intake. Having the option to add a aftermarket bov to make the whoosh sound can be "cool" but there is no real benefit to engine therefore the stock BOV is good enuf.

Don't be a ricer, leave the sound effects to those that worship Fast and the Furious

Besides the whoosh sound is "measured air" you're venting into the atmosphere. Your engine will run rich every time you shift, because the AFRs are screwed up.

But yes part of me agrees, it does sound cool. IMO: atmospheric BOVs get annoying after a couple of weeks; my car phone was amplifying the sh it out of it.

The TurboXS 4" down pipe fits well with good clearance all around. The entire TBE works great but had to get the hangers moved for the muffler. I would say install was a 2-3 without the muffler issues.

I should add I do have the SPT intake and shield...like the other guy I had to rotate the intake down a bit and used just the bottom hole on the bracket to get it low enough.... I can post pics if needed.

Any fitment experiences with COBB, Perrin, Invidia or any other catted downpipes?

Unfortunately I live in a county with emissions testing and I need to be able to pass a visual inspection...

The catted exhaust from xcceleration fit my 04 with no modification. (Other than mating it to the stock muffler, I like it quiet.)
