2009 STi struts will fit the Baja, without any fabrications....
Just be aware that the ride hight will drop a couple inches. |

Doing an image search it is apparently true.
This opens up a whole ton of coilover possibilities although I recommend increasing your spring rates to at least 10k front and 12k rear due to the 4500 lbs in the baja versus 3200 pounds in the STI as far as vehicle weight goes. For a reference I run 12k front and rear in mine and it rides like stock. |

I don't know where you got that figure, but Bajas are not 4500 lbs. They're closer to 3500.

I get the feeling that you're looking at the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. GVWR is the maximum allowable total weight of a vehicle when loaded.

You are right. It weighs 3485 pounds. Thanks for clearing that up.

Can anyone confirm the Invidia Legacy GT; Auto Trans; Catless downpipe will fit the Baja Turbo Automatic without any modification. While using a Grimmspeed 3" downpipe adapter to the stock exhaust system?
Turbo borked the factory cat (full of oil/coolant) and hammering it out is too big of a pain. Just need an inexpensive replacement to get it running. |

What about light weight pulleys? Regular size not undersized.

I have a Perrin lightweight pulley on my 05 turbo. It's mostly for bling. Do not notice any gains from it. But if I remember correctly if you have an auto you should keep your stock crank pulley.

Tuning question for a Baja turbo, yes I'm conflicted so please humor me.
At what point do I absolutely need to reflash/tune my ECU? - Downpipe? - Downpipe plus uppipe? - Obviously at larger turbo. I'm totally aware that tuning will get me the best results (even running stock), but I really don't want to throw more money into this vehicle. (I already have a Perrin catted downpipe and Perrin uppipe sitting in my basement, BTW.) |
