Default Noise due to JDM/UKDM Rain guards

Not sure where to post this so i figured i go to the tri-state first cuz i think some people have the rain guards as well...

There is wind noise that I get coming from what seems like the driver's side view mirror at highway speeds. If i remember correctly this was happening BEFORE i had the non-US market rain guards put on. Anyone with rain guards get excessive wind noise from ONE side of the car? The dealer claimed the reason why they stopped selling those rain guards in the US was because of too much noise. Anyone with comments?

you should get a tinge more of wind noise with them on. its inevitable. however, what you can do is check to see if the rubber seals themselves have come loose slightly, and if they have, just to push them back in.

(I know, i installed it, but i'm in london at the moment, with VERY little free time )

use tape to isolate the noise- tape a spot go for a ride. see if you can find the source-- thats what i usta do at the dealership for wind noise leaking into the cabin--hope that helps jim

They don't sell them in the US, they have to come from overseas...

Vic: i'll check the seals and all and see if that helps otherwise i'll use the tape method, that sounds very logical.. and tell us about LONDON!

Its definitely a bad seal that causes the noise (on mine anyways). This was on my driver's side and at the very front; when i pushed it down the noise went down significantly.

The double sided tape wasn't as sticky anymore at that spot since it got a bit dirty from being exposed. I bought some 3M double sided tape to replace the very front. This is quite a chore since you don't want to remove the whole rainguard or else the rest of the seal will be 'tampered' with. I just peeled it back a bit and used an x-acto knife to slice the old and installed the new - another PITA since you have so little room to work with and u need to place the tape just right.

Its a bit better but still not as good as new. Might be better to just go ahead and replace the whole tape as I'll have to someday to get rid of the noise completely (i surmise).
