Post ummmm, does spare tire work with big brake kits?

Does the spare tire clear even sti 4pots much less KVR/Brembo/Prodrive kits?

I guess if you have two jacks in the car, you rotate a rear to front, and put mini spare on rear?

HA HA HA.

HA.

Get 5 17" wheels if you are getting a big brake kit. The little spare in the trunk will make a good chair while you wait for the tow truck.

Or... you could get an Impreza spare from just about anywhere else in the world that had 4 pots from MY99 and up.

Or if you only have the front brakes you could move the rear to the front and put the small spare on the rear...

Don't worry about getting a spare, get that Prestone tire inflator stuff that you put into your tire when you get a flat. It works wonders!

GTBGUY:

You should not use emergency tire inflator in a Z rated tire.

A- it can create serious imbalance at high speed and
B- because the can says so.

not only that but i would shell out the extra $$$ for a 17" spare or 16" if you run OEM rims just that extra peice of mind they give you..knowing you can only go 50 miles at 50mph..how fun does that sound?

or get Triple A

Yup, I know that you're not suppose to be putting it in on a Z rated tire, but you'd be limping home anyways!

Has anyone answered the question? Sti 4 pot kit and the Temp donut? Do they actually make a different spare tire for cars sold with the bigger brakes? Temp size is T135/70D16 or something like that...

Reminds me that I once drove from LA to San Luis Obispo at 50-55 on a donut. Tire blew in my parent's 88 Subaru DL (worst Sube I've ever seen) that I was borrowing while at a summer intern.

I was on my way back to school with the car PACKED to the brim. I walked into a tire place that wouldn't fix my tire because they were closing in 5 minutes.

No other place was open where I was, so I made the entire 5 hour trip at 50 MPH in the slow lane of 101 pissing off hundreds of LA and Santa Barbara drivers.

I once made the whole trip from SLO to SD in the amount of time it took me from LA to SLO that day

It also reminds me that I need to find a full size spare somewhere...too bad I have nowhere to store a full second set of rims.

Sorry I didn't answer your question.

Like Peaty said. If you get a flat in the front, put the donut on the rear. Then install the rear on the front. You don't need two jacks to do it, and you won't have to lug a full-size spare in your trunk.
