Default Sorry guys, I don't have photos up yet

I have to sort through over 3000 of them, then I have to find the ones that I really like out of my 'keepers' bag, and then resize, and maybe crop a few of them, after going through a few of them, I shouldn't have to do any PP to edit levels and such, so it should be quicker than it could be.

expect at least a week before I have them up for you all to check out, but if I find some that are extra special, I will post them immediately to whet your appetites

Sam had the best job at the GPOH. I still can't believe that blond GPOH girl let you thump her on the nipple as she said "It could cut glass" and she was right. I would not have believed it if I had not seen it with my own eyes.

Sam,

Did you by any chance take a picture of a steering wheel off of a Le Mans car early Sunday morning? A mechanic for the team held it out for you.

Yes, that was me, laying all over the ground for the right angles and such...

I only got 1/4 through the ALMS race last night before I fell asleep.

I have an 8 gig and I only shoot in SHQ, which is roughly 1.6MB/image (not RAW, too much PP involved).

I want to get another 8 gig card because I am going to europe this summer for 3 weeks. It will be a good safety net.

My reasoning is, I went on vacation a few years ago and had a 512mb card (when 512mb was more than 3 photos) and it wasn't nearly enough, I ran out halfway through the trip and had to buy like 10 32mb cards because no one carried anything more, and of course they cost 3x what I needed. but yeah, have as much storage space as possible. That is my advice!

Man I knew that was you sorry I did not speak then. I was the guy in the Yankees cap with my son taking pictures as well. We were right there when you asked the guy to hold it out for you.

Hehe good to see you again I guess.

Why don't you get a hard drive based photo storage thing. Plug the card in, hit a button, pulls all the photos off and stores on a hard drive (I've seen 100GB models).

I have one of them, it was a 3 gig thing that cost me like $500 back in 2000

not much help now.

but yeah, it was just one more piece of crap in my bag that I had to make sure the battery was charged for, and the cards are cheap enough

I've got a 60GB Wolverine, which works ok (battery life sucks on it, though).

That's the difference. I shoot all RAW all the time.

I used to shoot RAW only in my old canon, but that was because it was only 3mega pixel, and the jpgs were just too small (1600x1200).

I may switch back to RAW, but since (for personal use) I only do 8x10 when I print, I don't need it to be that much bigger than it is at the highest JPG setting. When I am working it is all web based and the images get reduced to 800x600 and they want to put the images up imediately, so RAW + PP isn't an option, although I do save HQ to DVD after each shoot and give them the full size originals.

I like the versatility that RAW gives you, but for most of what I do, it isn't necessary.

I don't plan on doing any reworking as my WB and exposure were set correctly in camera (of the pics I've sorted I'm pleased with the camera's ability to do these on its own), however resizing will be necessary, as will saving at a suitable quality setting for the web so you don't have to scroll for miles to see the image, or spend 2 hours downloading 30 pics.
