BTW, we've had a few places testing these, and so far they've met with some pretty good success. Heck, just ask the guys at Andrewtech what they think of them.

Heh, I might be a first customer if I find the OEM gasket is causing my pre-turbo leak.

I'll find out this weekend and get back to you.

How do they hold up, what keeps them from falling apart? Are they reusable?

If properly torqued to the 50% crush you are supposed to acheive they hold up just fine. With the rebound you should be able to get a couple of reuses out of them, but like with all gaskets I wouldn't make it a habit.

Now, I'm hoping some of the folks who have played with these will put up some reviews soon so you don't have to take my word for it.

Graphite gaskets FTW!!

Just a reminder to people if you wanna reuse em a few times just use ultra copper or toyota FIPG on both sides of the gasket and they wont sick to the metal. Many car manufacturers warranty will not cover gaskets(BelieveItOrNot) on warranty repairs, We reuse a lot of gaskets.

Put all the gaskets into one package deal and call the pkg "got gas?" I mean don't you hate it when you're passing your competition on the race track and is all you can do is crop dust them...

What is 50% crush? HOW the hell do you know you've achieved 50% crush? Does that change the torque value for the bolt that the gasket is behind? Are the current torque specs on the 5 layer metal ones set to a specific crush level because of their composition?

Are these made from the flexible graphite with aramid fiber or what? I know its graphite, but it has to be combined with a material to make it flexible and they look really thick which allows the crush seal. Its my understanding that they're not reusable like the crucial racing ones?

thanks

50% crush would mean they squish to 50% of the thickness they were when they came out of the package.

No. It does not change the torque value. In fact, we have found the stock torque values to work pretty well to acheive the 50% crush.

No, they are not flexible. In fact, right there in the pics aboce on the package it says "Fragile! Do Not Bend!"

As I said above you might be able to get a couple of good reuses out of them, but you do have to be careful. There are no eternally reusable gaskets, and whoever is telling you that is feeding you crap.

OOOOH...they crush 50% when torqued.... they are hella thick.

Of course, I understand. I know that the heat on the gasket will cause it to become brittle and fuse to the two surfaces no matter what it is. The temperature will change the composition of the material. Graphite is a great material because its VERY resistent to temp, chemicals, and stretch.

I was just concerned with the Turbo->Downpipe gasket because the rings where the bolts are look thin to be a material as brittle as pure carbon. I've never known carbon/graphite to be pliable so I would think that it could crack at this point (though any metal gasket will do that after flexing).

I'm really considering buying the Turbo/db one cause it looks like a great replacement for my brittle stocker.

do you have a header-uppipe gasket (or can it be made) with a 2.5inch center hole? my gruppe-s header never seals right with the huge hole they come with.

is there a crush ring inside this gasket or does the entire gasket crush? if there isn't a ring i can just cut the regular sized one you sell to fit.

You MIGHT be able to get 2.5" out of it, but you're going to have to use something like a cookie cutter to get it as you don't want to bend it to cut it. There's no crush ring (the entire gasket crushes).

i know i want one of everything, well almost.. but some people may not, depending on what type of header you have, you may not need all of them..
but everyone would need the:
head to manifold/header
up-pipe to turbo
turbo to down-pipe
header to up-pipe (myself)

if you will pm me a price on these, thanks

Don't have it. We can't keep up with all the different post turbo flange styles that are on the market. The tooling cost, and cost to keep the inventory would kill us.
